DL hotels

We are planning to spend two nights at DL in late August. I have been touring through this site reading reviews and starting to do my homework.

But I was curious of the Canadian perspective.. does anyone have a favourite DL hotel to recommend? And why you would or would not recommend it?

We've been twice and are going a third time in 2 weeks. The first time we stayed at the Howard Johnson and it was great. The pool was wonderful all though it got crowed at night and you could see the fireworks right from there. The room was clean and the little store had things to eat. The walk was easy to me and we had at that time a 5 year old and a 3 year old in a stroller. The last time we went we stayed at the Ressidence Inn. It was nice aswell all though we had a ground floor 1 bedroom unit which was nice for the stroller but we did hear the people above us and complained the first time nothing was done the second night they were quiet in 2 minutes. The pool was bathtub warm and they have a free hot breakfast buffet which was wonderful. We did walk and it was 20 minutes to the maingate the ART does stop there but we didn't use it. This time we are staying at the Ramada Maingate-At the Park because of the closeness to the park and the pool size.

Hojo is great if you have kids, nice pools. Candy Cane Inn is lovely if you dont have kids, small pool. Beautiful grounds, nice cont brekkie and free private shuttle to park. DLH is great because it is old school Disney with a great pool. We are staying at the GC for the first time this year. It's largest advantage is a private entrance into DCA.
