DL hotel or PP

which one for east coast first timers? Need to have a back up plans just in case the Villas aren't available for our dates

I've spent 1 night at all 3 DLR hotels ~ my favorite is the DLH. It's a little bit more than PP but not much.

They are both very nice hotels. It just all depends on what decor you like better. The Disneyland Hotel has a strong Disney theme throughout, while Paradise Pier has beach/surf decor.

We have only stayed at the DLH adn love it. We are staying htere again next month. Now we own at VGC, so we will stay ther more often.

Just got back from 5 days at the PPH. I would not recomend the PPH. DLH is far superior to the PPH. The wait for an elavator alone makes the PPH less desireable IMHO. Staff was friendly, room was clean, conceirge offerings were acceptable. The one positive was the view of DCA was nice, especially at night.

While the walk isn't that much further than DLH those last few minutes to get to the PPH are tough on your feet after a day of fun.

We'll be sticking with the DLH from now on.
