DL Hotel or PP Hotel?

DVC Member, planning a summer 09 trip with 8 yr. old niece. I've stayed at GC and DL

Not at PP, which one would you think a 8 yr. old would prefer. I really enjoy the grounds at DL but the slide at PP looks pretty awesome. If doing PP, thinking about getting a room with the theme park view....even though the standard view at DL high floor I was able to see the fireworks every night.

Help...can't decide...too many pros and cons to each hotel. Any suggestions on what you liked or dislike about either hotel?

I would stay at DLH. We have stayed at both, and we felt the "magic" more at the DLH than PP.

My DS enjoyed the DLH pool, just as much as the PP slide. When we were at PP, only the slide was open, not the pool, but there is no "themeing" out there at all anyways.

So, if price isn't an issue, I'd pick DLH. We are happy we were able to spend a week there, but, we much rather staying off site now a days to save money for additional trips.

I'd guess most 8-year-olds would prefer the DL hotel, just because the room decor is a little more "magic", but I'd rather stay at the Paradise Pier. We had a theme park view room in May, and it was great...we could even see the Pixar Play Parade from our room! And the nighttime and sunrise views were beautiful. The main thing I didn't like about the Pier was the elevators - there aren't enough of them, and at prime times of day it can take a long time to get up to your room.

Remember that if you stay at the Pier, you're really not that far from the grounds of the DL Hotel, so you can still enjoy them. I *think* you're allowed to use the pool at the DLH, but I'm not sure about that.

It's also easy to walk across the street from the Pier and through the GC and use the GC's entrance into DCA.
