DL hotel or GC?? Help!

HI everyone,

We are going to DL in June. We have always stayed at The DL hotel, which we love. This will be the first time we have gone with the GC there. I saw on Expedia that the difference in price is only $50.00. I just wanted to know what your take on it was. I hear that the GC is beautiful. Is it worth the extra 50.00 a night? Is it a kid typr hotel? It looks more adult. I will have all three of my DD's, 6,2, & 1 year olds. Thanks for your help. Cristen

Cristen, the GC is an absolutely beautiful hotel and my favorite of the three. That said, with a family of five I would go with the DL Hotel. The rooms are MUCH bigger there and I would go for the extra space with three little ones.

I agree. The Grand Californian is an awesome hotel, very beautiful and spectacular. The location is incredible with access to the parks being so easy. The rooms are much smaller than at the Disneyland hotel and while well decorated there are hardly any "Disney" touches like in the rooms at the Disneyland hotel. The only real Disney referance are some small pictures on the shower curtain. The pools have a "redwood" theme and while pretty are not as fun as the Neverland pool. Kids can still have loads of fun here but after staying at the DL hotel might be a bit disappointed.

I figured as much. The GC looks beautiful, I would really like to stay, but the DL hotel I loved because of the small disney touches. Thanks for confirming what I thought.
