Did anyone use a GPS during their run and if so, where does your map indicate the 10 mile and 10.3 mile points on the course?

Our Garmin 305 showed the 10 mile position outside Angles Stadium, between the big "A" sign and the way before entering the stadium. It also indicates that the 10.3 mile position was where the 10 mile timing gate was as you left the field.

The reason I'm asking is that Tracy (MrsTrx) and I were some of the first people swept at the 10.3 mile mark. All the data from our Garmin indicates that we were swept about a minute early. Our 10.3 mile time from the Garmin matches the 10 mile chip time.

Just curious.

I'm so sorry you guys were swept - that stinks! :sad2:

I wore my Garmin, but somewhere early on it screwed up. By the finish, it said I did 26.22 miles! :rotfl: I then used it only for time purposes, to make sure I was somwhere ahead of a 15 min./mile. I will check with Chad. His Garmin kept a fairly accurate time/distance - not sure if he knows where the 10.3 mile mark was though.

I heard many people saying after the race that they thought it was long - alot longer than 13.1. And alot longer than simply accounting for weaving & such.

Howard commented after the race his said 13.4ish, but he said it was likely all the weaving. Someone else also came up to him and asked to compare who was also wearing a garmin, and they had it at 13.3 or so. When I mapped it out via satellite I got about 13.2 I believe, with the 10 mile point right about where the camera was inside the stadium.

None of these things are ever an exact science though...

My Garmin came out at 13.19 or so. Previous to the last couple of miles it seemed farther off but suddenly caught up towards the end. I figured it was due to the weaving at first and towards the end, I tried to keep going in straighter lines.

I dont know how to tell where the mile points were, but my Garmin 201 said around 13.69 for the tota;

I am so sorry you guys got that far & got swept. That stinks!!!!!

Chad said his said about the same distance 13.6x. Maybe it's a Garmin 201 thing? :scratchin

I have a Garmin 201, too and mine indicated 13.7. I didn't think I did that much weaving! :confused3

Bummer about getting swept. :sad2:
