We will be vacationing in Palm Springs end of Feb next year. I would like to drive over to DL for a day trip. Is that possible? Have read horrible things about the traffic. What would be the best day of the week to attempt this on? Advice anyone? TIA.
I'm gonna say that a Saturday would be your best bet, you wouldn't have that daily commuting traffic. Other than that leave Palm Springs really really early, as traffic on the 10 or 60 freeways start before dawn. It's about a 2 hour drive. But it is definitely worth it.
We drive from Arizona....and like to travel on a Saturday. Like the other post said, you don't have the weekday traffic to deal with. It's MUCH better doing it on a weekend.
It's only approx 1hr 30-45 min drive from Palm Springs without any traffic.
