I know Crocs are comfortable but I'm worried they might not be enough support for all that walking in DisneyLand. Has anyone else done it? It is a safer bet to wear sturdy tennis shoes?

I'm interested in this answer as well. I think those are the ugliest things next to "jelly" sandals, but everyone I've talked to says how comfy they are. My 3 year old loves his.

I tried them in June (a friend who went with us also got a pair). I wore them at home for a bit to get used to them, and was convinced (I had heard so many great things about them) that they were the way to go. They absolutely did not work for either of us though, and we were both in tennis shoes by the next day. :confused3

I wear my crocs most of the time at DLR. I start out with crocs n' socks, then take the socks off for water rides.

On days when I feel I need more support, I wear my Nikes.

I don't own any, but just wanted to say that we were at DL this past weekend and I saw TONS of people wearing them...even in the cold and rain, so there must be something to them. If you are comfortable wearing them at home, you will be comfortable there. Just like me and my Uggs :rotfl:

You want to switch them out anyway... I did my first day in running shoes and wanted to cut off my feet when I got to the hotel. Next morning it was socks (cold!) and crocs, mary jane style. Around noon they started to rub (a sock issue from experience, but still too cold for just crocs) so I changed back to the running shoes. Switch it out, keep your feet guessing! :)

I saw a man in Uggs and long jean shorts on Saturday....not the best look ever, IMO, and I wear crocs w/socks in public!!!.:cool2:

I want to get the Mary Jane Crocs, but I did read that they rub even without socks.. So I'm scared because I hate it when my feet are uncomfortable in shoes.. :headache:

:rotfl: :rotfl:  Eww.

I bought the red Mickey crocs last August in Disneyland. I loved wearing them. I'm taking them when we go next week - AND - taking my running shoes & switch out. I've been wearing my Croc Mammoths for about two months now, but they have no back strap, & I need that for walking.

i've been wearing crocs for years due to orthotic issues (back before they were cool lol)

imo, they all tend to fit slightly different. I break new pair in a bit before WDW, still few years ago got a huge blister (1st ever):confused3 from wearing w/o socks...so glad i had moleskin, etc.

i, too, wear the no-show socks (removing for water rides) and my New Balance tennies if i'll be walking more miles or at a faster pace

i have the mary janes, they fit snugger width wise, they are my "dress" version for dinner @ the parks.;)

if you have a chance i think it's good to switch out your shoes mid way thru the day or @ least give them a rest the next day.

Everything rubs my feet...there is no such thing as a comfortable all-day shoe for me. Such is life when you have hobbit feet (and if you are on one or two other disney message boards you now know who I am over there :rolleyes1 ). And, as the tag fairy noted, there's the obnoxious toe hair issue. :lmao: :rotfl:

But anyway, the mjanes aren't that bad. With the shape of my feet I just could NOT get the Caymans, and the mjanes are smaller in profile so they make me a little bit happier with how they look.

I make myself sound like such a freak here...:rotfl2:

Oh yeah, I had DS on my lap earlier, arm around him b/c he was cold, so I was typing one-handed. Now I have both hands and can put more info. The rubbing was on the bottom of my feet. The nubby things on the soles combines with my socks and starts to rub. Gets painful in a weird way. From our December and September trips, I know that if I take off the socks the problem is resolved, and then I get several more hours of comfy air-walking wear of the Crocs, but it was just too cold for me to do that on Sat. Plus I was getting tired of carrying my Sauconys in my backpack, so it was time to swap the shoes anyway. :)

Man, those Uggs aren't cute either. I know that after a long day, even in my good sneakers, my feet are hurtin'. So, maybe those things (crocs) are worth a shot.

I :lovestruc my mary jane crocs at DL. But I switched a few times too. I alternated w/ flip flops (it was warm at the time, and they were light weight enough to throw in my bag!)

If you go the mary jane crocs route, check the fit very carefully. The strap on my DD's crocs was a little snugger, and gave her a sore on her instep. Mine fit looser and gave me no problems. For the mary jane, you may want to go 1 size up, my DD wished that she had!;)

Personally, I love my crocs around the house and for camping, but I just can't bring myself to wear them in public! I will probably bring the kids' crocs for backup shoes, and perhaps even mine, but I would probably only wear them around the hotel and pool. Though I should look into the mary janes - I haven't seen them before - perhaps they won't look quite as unflattering as my other crocs!

I agree with all the posters that say any "all day shoe" is a fallacy! I always switch even in a single day between my Chacos, Birks, Danskos, tennies. When I wear socks, I always wear socks with a least some wool/lycra/coolmax in them. All cotton socks are the tool of the devil!

My kids have worn Crocs, Tevas and tennies in the parks. They like to switch out shoes throughout the trip, just like me.

I agree. Alas my cotton socks are thinner than the others I have, and with hobbit feet you don't want to add bulk. :rotfl:

Where can you get ankle-height or lower, thin, non-all-cotton, socks that arent' too tight at the top?

Thanks for the help, HobbitFeet! ;) I'm going to look into getting the mjanes.. They have another kind, I don't remember the name.. And they're mjanes type, but they don't look like traditional Crocs, but they have the insole part all bumpy like Crocs.. EDIT: They're called Prima..

Oh yeah, don't worry, I have big feet, and I worry about what makes my feet look any bigger...

prettyprincessbelle: I tried both on.....the Primas are more like a ballet flat. I didn't think they were as comfy as the mary janes! But both the primas and mary janes are definitely cuter than the traditional croc IMO!!

I too at one time could not understand people's attraction to crocs - until I spent a day at DL in them. I have the pink Mickey head ones. I have always had problems with my feet. I had no problems in them! I can do a day in them and feel great. When we went to WDW for a week I did switch them out with other shoes and had no problems. They are great!! They are really ugly though. At the end of the day all I really care about is how my feet feel not how the shoes look!

People often stop me and ask me about them when I am at DL. I tell them that despite thier ugliness they are by far the best shoe I have for a day at DL!!!
