We're staying at Tropicana, and using DL Express. It looks like the last possible bus departure is 410pm (they have us leaving fro stop 7, which is Best Western). Our flight doesn't leave until 9pm - out of SNA. It looks like they have a B route which doesn't pick up from Best Western, but does at the Howard Johnson (pick up is 508pm), which is less than a quarter mile from Tropicana. Would there be any issue using that stop instead, to buy us another hr of Disney time?

I suppose if we're booking roundtrip we'd need to book both pick up and drop off from the Howard Johnson and I know we'd have all our luggage, but for less than a quarter mile (and really the difference would be even less, since we'd be walking to the Best Western anyway), I feel like it'd be better for us?

I'm just trying to make sure I'm not overlooking anything. Any thoughts?

TIA!

Call them and ask if you can change your reservation to the hojo at the later time. I’m sure it won’t be an issue

We are going in feb and would like to use it too. Has anyone had issues with Disneyland Resort express lately? There were some bad reviews some time ago, late or no show buses, buses showing but waiting excessively to fill the bus, etc.

Full disclosure: I haven't used DLRE for a few years now (maybe 3 years?). I understand they are under new management, but I'm still replying, as I've still been seeing issues talked about here and on Facebook groups that I visit.

The "Too-Long; Didn't Read": Give serious consideration to taking the earlier bus, as they aren't always punctual.

The long version: They shouldn't have any issue picking you up at a different pick-up point, and I've had a different drop off and pick up point without a problem either. That being said... I've never had a smooth pick-up with them in the several times I've done it. Mainly, it was them not showing up on time--anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes after the posted pick-up time. For the height of this issue, I walked to the pick-up point at the DLH (where they sort the buses before sending them to their respective airports) at 5pm for a 9pm flight. I'm one of those silly people that REALLY follows that "2 hour rule" when planning to get to the airport, and there wouldn't be another bus for an hour, which could be too close in evening traffic, so, I hop on the LAX bus at 5pm, as they directed. Then they emptied the bus and "re-sorted" us. The driver wasn't even sure what airport he was going to--like popping his head out of the bus a few times saying, "I'm going to LAX, right? And she's going to SNA?" I ended up sitting on a bus for 45 minutes before we actually got moving. I arrived at the airport around 7:15pm. On time? Close enough, of course, and in plenty of time to catch my flight. But, anxiety producing.

I've still been hearing issues about late pick-ups (both hotel and airport sides). It seems like someone on the DIS posted about it in the past month or so.
