I haven't stayed at the hotels on DL Drive side of the park in forever. Coming down for a few days in Aug and the Travelodge is the cheapest by over $100. Can you still walk along the overpass to access the Mickey & Friends tram area to get to the parks if they're running yet? And w/ the security moving back to the DLH years ago, could you walk the path to the entrance of the parks instead of the trams anymore or do you get diverted to DLH for security checks? I just wonder if the $100 difference is worth it or just pay the extra and go w/ the ease of Harbor side hotels.

The Travelodge is an annoying location to walk to the parks.

I'd personally let the savings go and book a Harbor hotel.

From Travelodge, your only reasonable option is to walk all the way to the Downtown Disney security check (near the old ESPN zone) and enter that way, walking the rest of the way to the park entrance. There is no way to easily get to the trams. It requires so much backtracking that it's faster to just walk.
