Via a search it appears as though i can call 2 months prior for a DL ADR, so I guess I need to get my plans in order since arrival day is set for Feb 8th:woohoo:

3 Qs:

1) Is DL set up the same as WDW with the +10 days or do i have to call back to make each day's ADRs?

2) What time (PST) do they start taking calls?

3) WOC dining - is there a CC charge when making the reservation? If so, is it cancellable?

TIA

1) No its not. And its not as competitive either. For your dates you are likely to even get same day reservations without trouble.

2) i believe it's 7 am

3) I think the only prepay one is the picnic lunches for WOC which is online. I don't think dining CMs can even take CC info.

As the PP mentioned, DL dining is much more laid back than WDW dining. With so many locals visiting who rarely make reservations, it's not necessary to be on the phone at the 60 day mark. The only restaurant we've ever found to potentially book up is Goofy's Kitchen, but that doesn't usually happen until the date gets closer.

Also, just a heads up that they don't provide ADR #'s, the reservation is just held under your name.

I hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

thanks:goodvibes i'm pre-conditioned to make ADRs on the dot lol

This isn't entirely true, if you're staying onsite and use Vacation Planning they will provide you with a confirmation number for each and every ADR that you make (I have 3 for our Jan trip all different #'s). If you aren't staying onsite then yes, they only go with your last name.

we will be onsite via DVC @ GC, not familiar with Vacation Planning:confused3is that thru the DL website/phone # 714-300-7520?

guess i'll just tell the CM who i speak to @ the general phone number for priority seating 714-781-3463 that i'll be onsite & they can advise.

It would be handy if they'd associate the #'s with reservation and I could get a print out when i arrive (ala WDW @ guest services @ the hotel or in the parks).

I emailed vacation planning at: vacationplanning@disneyonline.com

To make ADR's I simply email the above address, include my reservation # and then indicate the dates/times/locations and # of people in my party to the CM's, usually within 24 hours I receive a response with a confirmation number and the details for my ADR's.

jasy thanks, i'll try the email route to save time on hold

Just FYI, you REALLY won't be on hold long at all. As the PP mentioned, it's not like WDW. You will be in awe at how different it is in that regard.

Honest.

They picked right up for me, and it was oddly quick!

I'm trying not to be to uptight as I am with WDW...

I made 2 breakfast reservations (Plaza and Goofy's)

and 4 dinner reservations (Ariels-WOC, Naples, Blue Bayou, Storytellers)

I'm going to try to "wing" it for lunch and not be tied to an ADR. It feels weird!!

I didn't have to give a card, pre-pay, and I didn't get a confirmation number. Definately a different world!!

I agree - it's an entirely different experience! When I called at the 60-day mark for our last DL visit, the CM was laughing at me throughout most of the call. :) Everything I requested was available. We stayed at GCH and they didn't give me confirmation numbers - just said the reservation was under our name.

P.S. We really enjoyed the Storytellers character breakfast, dinner at Blue Bayou, lunch at the Plaza and lunch at Wine Country!

hmm, my experience with DL phone calls has been entirely different:confused3 Quite long wait over several calls this year to price out the upcoming stay a few months ago, but that's to speak to reservations - maybe a different department?

I'm just fixated on the BB res & waterside dining, it's the only thing DH requested we do again this trip and i'd like to make it happen:wizard:

Otherwise, i do relish just winging most of the dining @ DL. Not even sure if i will book a WOC since we'll be onsite and could grab a FP or watch from viewing area @ GC.

imo, it's easy to forgo TS @ DL and not feel 'cheated' when there are so many amazing counterserves:thumbsup2 (unlike WDW where more than a few of the offerings are downright dismal:rolleyes1)
