DL/DCA Swap - Complete

I borrowed this from other swaps.

Due date is August 31th. (I need to receive your elements by this date).

This swap is open to any swapper!!! Everyone is welcome!!

1. You choose your park. You can join both groups.

2. Required: You will make two elements of your choice from the list below. No need to tell what elements you have chosen.

3. Pick a ride, land or general park and post what your choice is.

4. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each kit. Enclose all bags in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag. - be sure to include your name, your DIS name. On the larger Ziploc bag please put your mailing address on your bag and include return postage.

5. Mailing Instructions- Mail in Priority Mailer & include $4.60 for postage (stamps, cash, check) to return your items. Delivery Confirmation is $0.65.
Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these. On the outside of your box/envelope please include your DIS name and Swap name in the bottom corner!

6. PM me with your name and address. If you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

7. Most importantly HAVE FUN!! and be creative.

I'll take a spot in each group, please. Is it possible to do "general" for each one, or are you limiting it to one of each topic? Otherwise, I'll have to do some thinking on my topics.

This sounds fun. I'll have to think on it some. The eyelets, etc. and fiber would have to match whatever theme is chosen, right? First I thought Frontierland, then Buzz Lightyear, then Alice in Wonderland! Hmm..Too many choices!

okay I'm in too.........questions though, this is my first swap, I assume I need to make 9 of my element right since there are 10 spots? also I will be doing a border, is that to be double matted too?

so DD has made my decision of what to make, please put me down for Disneyland, I will be making Plutos dog house with a coordinating border (I will be using my cricut) please let me know if this will be okay, I'm a little nervous about doing this, I don't want the rest of the group to feel cheated if my stuff isn't good.

If there are 10 in a group, you would actually make 10 items. It can be hard on the hostess to keep track of missing pieces. I know it has been the source of many headaches on my end when hostessing.

And I'm pretty sure you're not going to make any of us feel cheated. We all started in the same place you are right now and we were all terrified that our stuff was awful. This is a really great bunch and you're bound to get some nice things!

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling better about my stuff. Made sample pieces today and showed by friend and her MIL and they loved them. So I will start on them tomorrow, DH is home for the weekend and is taking DD for the afternoon so I can have some quiet time .

I decided I wanted to do this but we had a medical emergency come up today and I will be out of town for awhile, so don't feel I can commit right now. Perhaps I could be an angel if you're closed when I get home? Does an angel make what they want or do they make what the person that had to drop out was supposed to be making? Does an angel usually get some notice, like at least a week, or is it make something in a day?

As I haven't visited DL since 1990 can anyone inspire me? I fancy BTMR but have NO idea what I could do for that. Any suggestions for that or something else? Preferably using orange as I have loads of orange bazzill (never could resist a bargain )

Please put me down for a Disneyland spot - the new Finding Nemo sub ride is my theme and I am deciding on the elements still I haven't even been on it yet but am looking forward to going in a few months I'm sure I will have some pictures as will many other Disneyland fans in this swap! I am still deciding if I will have time for the DCA swap - I'll let you know - but I do love there!!

Yay Nemo stuff!!!

I am actually taking a quick to DLR on Thursday with DD (we are visiting friends in S.CA) and can't pass up a trip being that close...the mouse is calling me and hope we can get to ride Nemo, heard the lines are about 2 hours long
So if anyone wants me to look for anything I'd be willing to pick it up , PM me by 9:00 pm PST tonight , I will be checking back then.
