Hello Everyone!

Me and my DS 14 will be traveling to the LA area Sept 18th-23rd. I would like to do one day DL and DCA. I know we won’t be able to do everything but this is a last minute trip. My question is this-
We fly into LAX on the 18th arriving at 8:30 am ish. Hotel is in Anaheim so by the time we get our rental car and check in to the hotel- I figure the earliest we can get to the park is 11/noon and we would park hop and have the Maxpass, staying until park close.
Or we could go on the next day Sept 19. My worry is that I may not want to spend the extra money on the Halloween party, and if not we would only have access to DL 8-6.

Thoughts?

I would not do the 18th. Arriving at noon is such a downer as you will arrive to crowds and have less time. If you go at rope drop, mornings can be amazing and you can get so much done! Plus Wednesdays are often one of the lowest crowd days of the week.

You will have park hoppers so go the 19th, arrive before rope drop, park hop throughout the day and settle over at DCA after you’re kicked out of DL and watch Paint the Night!

Definitely the 19th! You’ll probably get more done between 8-noon on the 19th than you would have all day on a day when you arrive at noon! I think the 19th will be a great day! Definitely rope drop and start at DL and take advantage of the low crowds all morning!

Umm, that was a lot of exclamation points, sorry.

I concur with the others; I would also go on the 19th, assuming you plan to get to DLR at opening on the 19th. As mentioned, the first several hours of the morning (especially on a non-summer/non-holiday weekday) are usually the best in terms of crowds. I think you can probably get more done in the first three hours of Wednesday than you will for the "extra" three hours on Tuesday evening. It is worth noting that the crowds will pick-up starting around 3:00 pm when the MHP guests arrive, but if you've made good use of the morning, you should have already gotten a lot done by that point.
