DH, DD, DS, DSIL, D Nephew and I were there 5 Disney days, 1 Universal day and my kids did a half day at Knotts. We had a great time, the first 3 days were the least busy, last 2 days were very crowded!

Karmel shuttle picked us up from Long Beach Airport in a full size van, plenty of room for all 6 of us and our luggage. They were friendly and on time both to and from our motel, definitely will use them again! We tried Lansky for our trip over to Universal, it was too cramped in the suburban for the 6 of us and we were surprised we got from our motel to Universal in 30 minutes Sunday morning! He drove very fast and I almost got sick!

We stayed at Desert Inn across the street from DL, which was great. We stayed there 4 years ago and liked it. Any time you needed towels or supplies you just had to call and if you needed trash picked up you just left outside your room. The room was clean and nice enough for us, they also had a grab bag where the breakfast room is and it had either water or juice, apple or orange, danish and granola bar.

We started our first day in DL and had hoppers, we were able to get virtual ROTR the first 3 days and really enjoyed the ride, we didn't try our last 2 days when they switched to stand by. The 2 days we started in DCA we rope dropped RSR and Web slinger, we thought that was pretty fun too! That was the first time we rode the new rides.

My DH and I rope dropped every day and that was the best, least busy time for us and the ride wait times were really good the first few hours. We had all adults so everyone could come and go when they wanted, which worked out well for our group. This was my SIL and DN first time to DL and they had a hard time keeping up with us. My SIL was having foot problems though, so that was a bummer!

We still missed WOC, Fantasmic, Frozen musical and Small World Holiday! I wanted my SIL and DN to see those! Unfortunately I don't know if they'll go again, but we will!! We did see the parade and fireworks and that was fun! Also my all time favorite Dapper Dans!

Hopefully this is helpful to someone who's planning a trip! I'm not used to writing much!

I forgot to mention Dining , we had at least one sit down a day, which was a nice break. Carnation Cafe and Naples we all liked the best. None of us cared for Lamplight, and Catal was pricey but good once they cooked my salmon...lol! My DD and I decided to split the salmon and I cut it in half and it was raw/ yikes! We went to Goofys kitchen for a late breakfast and it was ok, some food was good and others not. That was the first time we ever did a character meal and it was fun! We did a couple mobile orders and it worked fine for us and some places you could just walk up.

How were the crowds at Universal? Going next week. Were all the restaurants open? How did it compare to Disney? Usually go to DLR but with all that’s going on down there and no Candy Cane, no masking and no vaccines required,we opted for a simpler trip. Haven’t been since Harry Potterwas added so looking forward to that. Thanks for any info you might add!

We went Sunday morning the 20th and it wasn't very busy at all until afternoon. Everyone did all the rides they wanted and I did the few I could handle, I get motion sickness. I did enjoy Jurassic World, Studio Tour and Water world show! We had lunch at Bubba Gump in the City walk area and it was really good. ( never been there ) and all the other restaurants and shops were open ( Didn't have to wear masks outside the City walk area ). They open around 11 am I think. We had to wear masks at all times in Universal except eating or drinking and you had to show proof of vaccination and ID before you went in. My DD and DS love Universal and want to go again, I love Disney more and would rather be there the whole time! Hope you have a great trip!!

Thanks for the info! I, too, have motion issues and won’t be able to do a lot of rides but am looking forward to a more quiet trip with some fun added in!
