WDW vets planning our first DLR vacation. On one of HydroGuy's posts (which are AWESOME), he mentioned that the TouringPlans crowd calendar for DL/DCA is not as "respected" as the one they have for WDW. If TouringPlans is not overly reliable, is there another crowd calendar that is generally reliable?

Thanks!

I dont think they are all that reliable. I usually will look at the crowd predictor, plus ask some people in forums :)

We're going Saturday, June 2 through Thursday, June 7 (June 7 is our check-out date, so likely no park time that day). There are no AP blocks on Monday or Tuesday while we're there. Any thoughts??

This is just a guess on my part (or wishfull thinking since we will be there the week before you (leaving June 1st) but I think the crowds won't be too bad. It won't be dead by any means but I will be a little surprised if it gets very crowded. My reasoning is this. Some schools down there won't be out yet is my understanding. Also Carsland will open the 15th so I'm hopin that will cause more people to wait before going to the parks. Also I have read that early June generally isn't too bad as far as crowds. Anyway that's my thought process. We shall see if I'm right or not.

I can tell you that last year the first part of June was very busy, but that had a little to do with the debut of 2 new rides (little Mermaid and Star Tours) and a new parade (Soundsational.) I believe they opened June 3rd, but were soft opening before that.

Keep in mind that even though Carsland will not officially open until the 15th, there will be cast member previews, AP previews, and probable soft openings before the 15, that could also bring in people to the parks.

My guess is that it will be crowded on non local blackout days as everyone tries to get in their last trips before the summer blackout hits and also hope they soft open Carsland while they are there. Do a little planning and use fast pass efficiently and you'll be fine.

Just got back from our 18th-20th visit. Touring Plans had DLR solid 10's every day due to spring break. I'd say it was 4-5 at most. Waits for major rides peaked at 30 mins except Toy Story which was its usual 45 mins. Had front row seating for Fantasmic last night 20 minutes before showtime.

Some had said low crowds were because of heavy rain on the 17th and forecast rain (that didnt happen) on the 18th. The weather and crowds were fantastic!!

We did early June a few years ago and were very dismayed to see all the school buses parked in the parking lot bringing lots of junior high kids to the parks. And it was a bit chilly ("June gloom"). Not thrilled to spend my vacation with a bunch of teenagers, but they usually cleared out by 3 pm.
