DL 1/2 50% Full(2/25)

Last year the race was 60% full on 2/21/07 and filled on 7/14/07. This year it was 50% on 2/25/08 so I would guess around early July. I will keep everyone up to date before it fills

We will be at DL. My knee won't be recovered enough so I will do 5K walking and Linda will do both the 5K and 1/2. She has to get the special double medal for us.

After all this rehab for 8 months, a beer at DL sounds really good

It looks like the 5K's are now $40 at WDW and DL Throw in Active fees and these races are getting spendy.

At least the 5K in Jan is only $25 using DVC mail in

I was looking at the online registration and see that DL has runner and walker categories. What's up with that? If I register as a walker will I automatically be put in the last corral? DH and I want to start together and he sometimes runs. Not anything as structured as intervals, just the occassional run when he feels like it.

Pat: I think the only reason they are asking is to put walkers together in the last corral regardless of pace. Walkers like WWDave could kick some runners butts in corrals ahead of him if put in back.

I think walkers should protest because this unfairly would put some of us at the back. Fight On! Fight Strong!

I am working on it Keep throwing subtle hints out there to DH - hopefully it will work. Our 11 year anniversary is in October and I told him it could be my anniversary present Keep your fingers crossed for me.

The DVC app is still good. I have heard nothing about not honoring the rates on the application. I don't think the 5K rates went up on 3/1 like the Half & Full.

Hope to see you in Aug at DL. I hopefully will be doing well and feeling great

FYI: I just received an email from Disney that stated:

If you register and finish the Disneyland Half Marathon this year (2008) and you finished the Walt Disney World Marathon or Half Marathon this year (2008), you are entitled to an additional medal. You do you not have to do a thing. We will automatically know you completed the World race and are registered for the Disneyland Half Marathon. We utilize the same registration system and database on both coasts. You'll receive a wristband when you pick up your packet that you must wear until you finish. After you finish, you'll receive the special medal.

Guess we get to wear a whole bunch of hardware after the race
