Miracle on Ice
DIZNEWS: According to The Boston Herald, filmgoers should "expect" Disney to "fast-track" the tentatively titled "Miracle", which is about the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team's 1980 victory over the heavily favored Soviet Union at Lake Placid, New York. The suspenseful game has been dubbed a "Miracle on Ice." Scribe Mike Rich (Finding Forrester) will pen the screenplay, which will reportedly have a "Remember the Titans feel-good ring to it." Disney is expected soon to pay for the rights to the hockey heroes' stories. So far the studio only owns the rights to coach Herb Brooks' story. One athlete's agent was quoted "It was such a great event in our history and that patriotic spirit that America had back then is still alive."
