Against my better judgement I have agreed to go to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede! After a house vote I thought I had got away with it but a friend who we are meeting up with already has tickets and so the vote has been overturned! :sad2:

Has anyone been to this and am I going to lose my sanity? Possibly the only day of my Florida holiday I'll be wishing I was working 9 til 5!!! :rotfl2:

no its fun!
the food it good and its a great show.

Be sure to get there early to see the horse preshow (the horse walks upstairs etc!)

Its entertaining and Im sure you'll have a good night!

The dolly parton bit at the end is a bit much but the americans like it I think!
(my son, (aged 4) said, why does she look like a doll!)

He also got to chase chickens across the arena and won!

Buy your north and south flags and get ready for some stomping!

we were planning on doing it this trip, but we were too tired...
but i'm really sorry we didn't....it's supposed to be lots of silly fun...

it can't possibly be worse than the hoop-dee-doo-review.....which i thought was the worst thing ever put on the face of the earth -- shoveling food into your mouth as fast as you can while people are performing for you, all at such high speed since they need to clear the place out to serve the next sitting -- awful...

I think this is one of the best entertainment dinners I have ever been too. I appreciated the opening with the Buffalo's (as I am native american). I am not sure if the show has changed this year or not. I have been to the one in Orland, Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge TN. We always had a lot of fun. The show really has some good songs and of course it is the North against the South. One never knows who will win. It does change. I am sure you will enjoy the show, skits, and the horses are amazing and quite beautiful. You can view them outside of the attraction prior to opening and the Doves were outside too. The opening show is good, some parts are corny, but that helps to make the attraction. We sat upstairs for the preshow and the horse came right by us.

Just a note...Greg Anderson is no longer doing the preshow. It is now an old fashioned variety/medicine show featuring Miss Dixie, Play-it-Again Sam and Dr. Lovecraft.
