Has anyone been? We are thinking of doing this on Thanksgiving night instead of venturing into any parks. It will be DH, myself and DD4 (who will be turning 4 that day!). It is worth it to pay the $50 for her...will she enjoy the show enough? I checked out the menu and all she will probably eat is the chicken, corn and biscuit. So I am hoping the show is worth the money. We are also already doing HDDR the night before. (we will also have a rental car, so that is not a problem.)

We've done the Dixie Stampede Christmas show in Gatlinburg, TN with my parents, brother, sister and their kids. We didn't have kids at that time, but all my nephews really enjoyed it. It's really exciting with lots of action and lots of animals. That said, I don't like paying that much money for a place that does not even give you a fork and spoon to use and we couldn't get a drink(the one in FL might serve alcohol). If it is up to me and my DH we would rather spend that much money on a good meal elsewhere. If you are basing your decision on the kids though, they would probably have a great time.

We were a group of 10 family members who attended on Christmas Day, 2004. The two youngest kids were 5 and 8 and absolutely loved the show, as did everyone else from teens to grandma. The action is non-stop and the food was quite good.......and yes, VERY casual - it all just added to the fun! If your daughter likes horses and animals, she will be entertained. It was very festive and an overall great time! :thumbsup2

My Daughters were 3 and 1 and they both loved watching the horses run around the ring. The food was great and the show was wonderful too. This was in Gatlinburg though. I'm sure the show is pretty much the same.

We went to the Christmas Show last year in Pigeon Forge. My daughters were 5 and 4 at the time. They loved it - especially the ice skating part. It will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit.

With that said, I am sure that the Christmas things at WDW are out of this world. I've never been to WDW at Christmas, but it could be a let down at Dixie Stampede if your kids are die hard disney addicts.

Make sure you tell the people at Dixie Stampede that it is you Daughter's birthday because they will probably do something to recognize her.

We have done the one at Myrtle Beach and while it was fun, I think that there are way too many Christmas things I would rather spend that kind of money on at WDW. DD is a great choice as is Resort hopping and checking out the decorations. Dinner at a fun resturant or even a character meal would be fun. Make ADR early to ensure a table.
