Dixie Brand "Cups To Go?"

I read people on the board use Dixie brand "cups to go" for their morning beverage at Disney. This is so they can leave the hotel room with their drink and wait for the bus then toss the cup.

I am assuming these are cups for hot beverages with lids...Where can they be purchased? I have tried WalMart and my local grocery store and can not find them:confused:

Please any help as to where they can be purchased would be great, thanks!

Yes, the cups are like what you would get for coffee to go. They also have an inexpensive cardboard ring for around the cup!

I've had luck at our local Target. Many of the grocery stores in our area also carry their own private label hot cups with lids.

If you can't find any, ask any local fast food joint for a few w/lids to go.

I just picked some up this past weekend. I found them with the regular hot beverage cups in the disposable paper items aisle in the grocery store. They were a bit pricey (almost four dollars) but I felt they were worth it for the convienience of not carrying my refillable mug around all day at the parks.

I believe I have also seen these types of to-go cups available at Sam's Clubs! Check it out! Have a great vacation with lots of pixie dust :)

I will no longer be buying dixie cups. I was told that their spokesperson stated, " I am ashamed to be from the same State as President Bush".

Have you done any research to find out if this is true?

ROFL -- I think it was one of the Dixie CHICKS that said that, not the Dixie CUPS spokesperson.

(BTW, not to start a debate, but I'd feel the same way if I were from TX. I'm embarassed that the man is our president.)

It was one of the Dixie Chicks! :) I heard on TV last night that some country music stations are not playing their records.

You can safely buy Dixie cups & still support the President! I'm thinking maybe I need to buy some more Dixie Chicks CDs, but that's just me.

Definitely not the Dixie company, although it is hilarious when news gets passed around wrongly.

Apparently some stations encouraged people to come by and throw out their Dixie Chicks CDs. If any of you are throwing them out feel free to send them my way - I love the Dixie Chicks.

And Stampmom- i fully agree!! Bush thought our Prime Minister's name was Jean Poutine. Although this is not the place to have a a political debate, you're right :)

these to-go cups just don't make financial sense! Think about it, folks: these cups are almost $4 per pack of 12 (looked it up on line just now). You can buy a 12-pack of canned sodas for $2 -- half the cost. Plus you have to go get the refill soda and wash out the cup when you're done switching it into the to-go cup. If you're going to haul something with you anyway, haul the drinks instead of the to-go cups.

I'm not sure about coffee costs because we don't drink it.

They make sense in the morning when you really need a cup of joe to go!!!!

Buy the cups and lids in bulk at BJ's wholesale, Sam's Club or Costco, and get about 250 instead. It will cost a little more, but wow, they are a lot cheaper.

You would be stocked for years! I use them at home too, for long car trips, because the kids can use them, I can use them and we can throw them out.

I'm definitely going to look for those and bring them with me next time. The first day I used my refillable mug and had to carry it around with me all day. On top of that, I couldn't reuse it at the parks to put water in because I couldn't get it clean enough. Only when I got back I washed it with soap and water. So every day I had to pay extra to get the coffee to go at the resort. I can't remember what I paid, but I'm sure it wasn't cheap. Bringing your own cups is a great idea. What I'm worried about is if a CM says anything about them.

I am still sitting here laughing about the Dixie Cups spokeperson comment.

Did anyone ever ask for an empty to go cup from the CMs? Just wondering. You could fill your mug, take the empty cup & transfer it later. I know some places don't give out empty cups but I have had no problem getting cold cups at Disney.

When I went to All Star Movies, I had to pay for the cup. One time I was able to get 2 cups and wasn't charged. So, it depends on who you go to. Of course, that same cashier wasn't around again, so i had to pay for the cup the next time.

I guess in a food court, where you fill your own cups, it would be hard for them to monitor. Oh well, so much for that idea!

We buy the bottled frappucinos before the trip and keep them in the hotel room. I like the cool drink better on a hot day.
