Divorce Survey-Please Help!

I have to do a survey for a class for school on divorces and how they affect the children involved...if any of you are children of divorced families or have gone through a divorce with your own children, please answer my questionnaire if you have the time!! It's really appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Questions for children of divorced families:

When did your parents’ divorce? How old were you?

How did your parents explain to you that they were getting a divorce?

How did you initially feel about their divorce?

What arrangements did /do you have for seeing your parents? (eg. at mom’s every second week, etc.)

How did you cope with the divorce? (eg. Acting out, became quiet etc.)

Did the divorce make you look at your parents in a different way?

How did the divorce of your parents change your perspective on marriage? Do you still believe in marriage?


Questions for people who have divorced while having children:

How old were your kids when you got a divorce?

How did you explain the divorce to your child(ren)?

What challenges did you face with your child(ren) after the divorce?

What questions did your child(ren) ask you during and after the divorce?

What was the hardest adjustment your family faced during the divorce process?

Early 2002; I was 8.

How did your parents explain to you that they were getting a divorce?
They sat me down and explained that they would no longer be married.

How did you initially feel about their divorce?
Betrayed

What arrangements did /do you have for seeing your parents? (eg. at mom’s every second week, etc.)
Dad's house every weekend and on longer school holidays

How did you cope with the divorce? (eg. Acting out, became quiet etc.)
I became much more reserved, wouldn't open up much about my feelings (11 years and I'm still trying to get better about this)

Did the divorce make you look at your parents in a different way?
Yes

How did the divorce of your parents change your perspective on marriage? Do you still believe in marriage?
It's made me more cautious of marriage and relationships in general. I'd rather not hurt anyone that way if I can help it.
