I don't actually have a topic for Topic Tuesday except to say that July snuck up on me! June has been such a loooooong and eventful month that it seemed as if it would never end. I woke up this morning and realized that it was no longer June. Actually, it is July! :sunny:

Please sign up to host a week. Since I launched the new thread on a Tuesday without a topic, I will also host the 4th week properly.

WOO HOO! My 25th wedding anniversary gown that I wore for our vow renewal in Disney World in 2018 still fits! I will be able to wear it to my work daughter’s wedding on the 12th! I had worn Disney jewelry, so I will need to buy a new necklace with sapphires and rhinestones, but that’s fine.

WOO HOO! Today is my day off from summer camp!

WOO HOO! I don't have to go on field trips with this wildly disorganized "organization!"

WOO HOO! I'm not a part of the badly planned "Escape Room" activity today!

WOO HOO! I can take care of myself today!

This job is quite rough on the body. I threw my back out, and both knees are swollen and acting up due to being on my feet a lot. It's funny, because I don't actually get as many steps in as I do at school. Instead, we stand around a lot in the gymnasium during the mandatory K-8 whole group challenges. The challenges themselves take about 15-20 minutes tops, but the lack of organization leading up to getting started is about 30 minutes, and the downtime afterward before we are dismissed into our grade level groups is another 30 minutes. I'm trying to at least walk around a little so I'm not just standing in one place, but it's hard sometimes to even do that. I really wish I were running things, because all of this wasted time would not be in my schedule at all.

I'm so sorry to constantly complain about my summer job. It has given me tremendous perspective though. It makes my school and district look REALLY GOOD right now!

Having to try to stand in one place for an extended period is awful! Screwed up my legs and back mightily while working in retail that way!

Woowhoo getting “early dismissal” tomorrow to get a start on the holiday weekend

Woohooing that the migraine is gone. I still had a headache yesterday just not as bad as Monday and I just felt off. I fell back to normal today and even went for a walk and plan to go again this afternoon after if cools some.

Woohooing that I get out early tomorrow and then Friday and Saturday we get to see the orchestra again. It will the first of 5 visits this summer.

Wednesdays are an in-office day, but when I got up this morning my body was nope, that is not-going-to-happen today. I took some Tylenol and went back to bed for another hour and a half, which did help (woohoo). Then I could not get signed-in to work because two security authentication things weren't talking to each other. I was on the phone with the help desk for 1 1/2 hours while he tried to figure it out. I'm just getting started and it is almost lunchtime... I guess that's a good thing (woohoo).

I've been drinking pre-made protein drinks to get my daily mg's up to where it needs to be and I'm starting to suspect that there is something in them that is triggering my allergies, which in turn is making me feel so crappy. I'm going to back off drinking them and see if that helps... dang it. I've got other protein powders I can try, or I may have to resort to actually cooking.

Woohoo... I get my undercut shaved this evening. I'm starting to think my hairdresser doesn't really like undercuts because she barely cleaned it up and it is already barely there. The barber will give it a proper shave and that always feels so goo.

You might want to consult your doctor about the protein supplements. DD and I used to drink Iconic protein shakes. Her doctor told her to stop because it was causing her liver enzymes to be at an unhealthy level as well as digestive issues. DD is thin and normal weight, so the doctor was alarmed at her test results. After stopping the protein shakes, her numbers returned to normal. I have since stopped drinking the shakes as well and eat yogurt instead.

As much as I dislike it, I am thankful for FB. I accidently had a prescription refill delivered to my old address and the folks who live in the house now reached out thru FB to coordinate getting it to me. Also, yesterday a BI Mingos group spun up of folks who are going to suit up in flamingo gear and walk in the parade tomorrow. I ordered a flamingo hat, earrings and tee shirt and am planning on walking with them. Oh, and the flamingo saga continues... they keep popping up in the roundabout and the city keeps taking them down. But they are spreading around town, including a few in front of the fire station, the history museum and a big sign in the window of the book store. It all makes everyday just a little more... pink.

I'm also thankful for feeling better today, with less congestion. So I am convinced the protein drinks are the culprit and will try different things.

Since I'll be wearing pink tomorrow, I have my Mickey and Minnie 4th of July tee shirt on today. Happy 4th to all who celebrate.

When I was 7 years old, the movie, "1776" came out. After that, it was on every 4th of July for my entire childhood and into my young adulthood. In 1976, we celebrated the Bicentennial which was a huge deal. In fact, my niece was born in 1976, and her room was decorated in Raggedy Ann and a red, white, and blue theme. Because of those two events, I became very knowledgeable about the Declaration of Independence. Celebrating the 4th was always a really big deal for my family. Our family reunion took place at our beach cottage on Long Island Sound, culminating with the fireworks in all of the surrounding towns which was quite magnificent.

This year was the least patriotic 4th I've ever experienced. The current state of our government had me feeling like yesterday was nothing special. DD worked and got paid double time. DH and I worked in the yard and eventually relaxed in the pool.

I hope that one day I feel like celebrating again.

8/10 on the quiz. Better than I thought as history was not my strong suit.
Pretty knarly thunderstorm blew through RI on Thursday night which lead to lots of down trees and power outages. Very thankful for our generator as the power did not come back on for over 12 hours for us. Some people it was over 24, couple hundred are still without. Bunch of fireworks events were set up for the third and because fuses were installed it was too dangerous to break them down so they had to be set off. Full shows were completed within 5 minutes when all the shells went BOOM one right after the other.
DS 12 marched in the Bristol 4th of July parade which was a pretty big deal for him (iykyk). The experience was super disorganized as everything with his scout troop is but he had a good time. And yes he is in an eagle costume. Thankfully it was only about 80 degrees out. He was hot but it could have been way worse.
