Diving in Cozumel

We are doing the WBPC next year and want to go Scuba Diving. My husband is deployed to Guam right now and getting his PADI certification while there. We have a few local dive shops in our area to get my certification, but there is PADI and SSI. Does anyone know which certification is accepted for the Disney excursion?

• This excursion is for certified divers only. Guests must provide a valid certification and photo ID onboard and have completed at least one dive in the past 2 years. Before diving, Guests must be ready to inform staff what equipment is required.

Also, they should be "OPEN WATER" certified, not just "basic" PADI.

I'm a master diver and I always go diving when I cruise with DCL. In regards to your question on which agency is accepted by DCL it's either (PADI or SSI) with at least an Open Water certification is required. Personally I prefer PADI but do what's most convenient for you.

We will be getting Open water certified. The SSI shop has its own pool and boat so offers more classes and times than the PADI shop.

My wife and I have Open Water certification through SSI and have no problems with dive operators. SSI or PADI would be fine. As mentioned, make sure you have Open Water, some places have a lower certification that may not be recognized. Enjoy the dive!
