I have a question about giving my children my DVC points when I'm gone....
I have 2 grown children 20 and 22. When I bought I asked about putting their names on the contracts and was told since I was financing it they would have to fill out a credit application also.. So I did not want to bother... My question, can I add their name to it now? Also I have 150 pts at WLV and 100 pts at BWV. When BCV opens I plan to buy at least 50 pts there. Will I be able to give WLV to one and BWV and BCV to the other??. I know BWV and BCV are not 150 each but together they will be....
Thanks

Yes, you will be able to divide it that way...it is, after all, your property.

There are likely several ways to accomplish this- I believe you can even add them to the membership now, but the contracts may certainly left to them in a will or other estate planning tool.

I'm sure one of our member attorneys can offer some suggestions, as well as DVC itself. They have certainly dealt with these issues before.

Enjoy!

A couple of additional thoughts. You can divide them as you state but you cannot subdivide an individual contract. You could not give each 75 points of your WLV points. You can add them as associate members now and they would be able to make reservations and the like. You would need to change the deeds and record them again to change the names officially. I suspect this would cost several hundred dollars on the soon to be 3 contracts. You would also need to wait until their paid off or get the finance company involved to change the deeds.

Two questions:

Does a DVC guest have to pay the $95 transportation fee?

If yes, does an associate member have to pay the fee?

No, that fee is only for those that exchange in via II. Members, guests, renters, etc dot pay the fee.
