We're hoping to sail the Fantasy next September. My parents might be going with us and we're curious how the divider on the veranda works. Does it open like a door? Do the crew members remove it?

The stateroom attendant can open it. It doesn't become one big verandah--more like two partially divided verandahs.

We did this on our cruise this summer. We asked the stateroom attendant to open it on the fist day. It provides a walkway between the two verandahs, but they are still blocked off about halfway. If you have younger children, I recommend telling your parents to keep their sliding door locked when they don't want visitors. Otherwise, eager grandchildren may enter their cabin at inopportune times. :)

It's a hinged in the middle partition that your room host will open.

One note not all dividers open. That's due to the superstructure of the ship.

This is a divider that opens:

This is an overhead shot of several open dividers, making a larger verandah:

...do dividers open on the Wonder? Because if they do, I'm not telling my family about them. :love2::love::rolleyes1

Some dividers on the Wonder do open, at least they did back in January 2015. We has the Walt suite for my wife's 60th birthday and three adjacent staterooms, for our adult children and there families. We had the stateroom host open the divider between the Walt suite and the next stateroom. It hadn't been opened in a while so they had to get a carpenter (or mechanic) to get it to successfully open.

Deck 10 of the Fantasy has one other type of dividers in addition to those pointed out by PrincessSmoo: the divider wall in those has a 2-3' oval opening in the middle so you can talk with each other but not walk across to the other cabin. We once had one of these between two connecting cabins (10120 and 10122). If I could do it over again, I would call and request connecting cabins where the door can be opened as shown in PrincessSmoo's first photo.
