Divas, Zebra Domes, and Pixie Dust! A Week in an African Paradise! New TR Link Pg.145

I'm here to hear about your adventures! Your view is wonderful!!!!

:welcome: Lots more adventures to come!

Wow great upgrade!! Isn't it awesome being on the lobby floor?? We were lobby floor last August but on the other side (first room past the DCL kiosk!) It was great!

This time not so much, I'm almost up to that in my TR!

Oh, we so loved being on the lobby floor! Uh-oh, it sounds like you weren't as lucky this time. :scared:

Oh what a great suprirse the upgrade !!! And what a beautiful view!! Of course! Great shot! I enjoyed seeing your first few lobby pics, and I know more are to come! How fun to get settled in the excitement you must have felt! Great post! Glad you guys got settled in so easily!! :goodvibes

I would really like to stay there at some point, too. I will add it to my list! :thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes, I think everyone should stay at AKL -- it was just so wonderful and peaceful -- it was a great resort to come back to at the end of the day.

Here you are Jackie! I knew you were back a little while ago and had to come track you down. What a great start so far. My dh annoys me in the car when we drive longer than an hour. ;) You're one superhero for driving the whole way! I'm interested in knowing if you liked TGM and if it worked for you. I'm planning on using him for our first trip this December.

:welcome: I am glad you found me! Charles tends to annoy me, too -- that's why I encourage sleeping. :lmao:

I mainly used TGM for Best Days and that worked out well.

Please forgive me for butting in but I just wanted to say that TGM rocks! I used his advice for our first trip last year and we never waited in long lines and got to see/do everything we wanted while we were there.

Same here! :thumbsup2

The Poly was awesome! I kept finding myself saying "I love the Poly!" It was so handy being on the monorail. We just wheeled our stroller on and off with such ease. It's a really pretty resort, too. But I think quite a few of the Disney resorts look super pretty. Our DD2 kept repeating "Aloha" with a funny little accent. She still does it from time to time. Both girls keep asking when we get to go back to the hotel. I think they're bummed we don't live at the Poly...and I kind of am, too.

I know that feeling! I am bummed that we don't live at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Hey, I am more technologically savvy than that!

I brought my collection of 8 track tapes!

8tracks.jpg

I spy Journey and Fleetwood Mac and Ted Nugent...AND OH MY GOODNESS! Is that Cheech and Chong on the top??? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Wow! You have a lot of toys! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Look at that awesome view you got!!! Pixie dust already! :woohoo:
We absolutely loved the inside of AKL, got a few pics in front of their Christmas tree. We wandered around a little outside, but it is so beautiful, I can't wait to see more of it! I can't remember, did you have any ADR's for any of the restaurants at AKL?

I would so love to stay there at Christmastime!!!

We ate at Boma (of course) which is a huge favorite of ours.

I always remember that my grandparents had this 8 track player down in the basement where my cousins and I would play. Most of it was Frank Sinatra and italian style music, but there was this one cd that had the song from Smokey and the Bandit on it. We'd listen to that entire 8 track just to hear that song. Too funny!

:rotfl: That's a great story!

Congrats on the upgrade Jackie!!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!!! I am glad my wish for some extra pixie dust for you all came true!!!!! I can't wait to hear about the next adventure!!!!

Your wish did come true!!! Thanks! :goodvibes

I just had to hop on the bandwagon because we are staying at jambo house for our first DVC vac'n in Aug.:woohoo:I can't wait. I love your view and your pictures, can't wait to hear more.:surfweb:

:welcome: Oh, you are so going to LOVE Animal Kingdom Lodge! It was just so wonderful on so many different levels! The room view was just the beginning of the fun we had there!

We got upgraded to a pool view on our last trip too.

Thanks for the pictures of the room and the especially the picture of the cats. We had it in our room too. I didn't think much of it at the time but the three jumping jaguars have made it into my dreams a few times.

:wave2:

Just saw you had a tr going. Great start.

Congrats on the upgrade.

Looking forward to more.

That view was a great way to start the trip!

I loved that picture, but I haven't dreamed about it! :rotfl:

:welcome: Scott!!! How have you been? I just went over to your PTR!

Thanks -- I was super thrilled because I don't ever really expect things like upgrades.

There's lots more to come. :thumbsup2

Hello from Charleston! I just jumped in on your report...looks like it's going to be a good one. We're heading to AKL in December, so any snippet I can grab about the resort gets me psyched for our stay. I can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2

Yeah for an upgrade! :woohoo::woohoo:

I can't see your pics from my restricted site, but I CAN imagine just how beautiful the view was. I loved the jamboo pool and thought how wonderful it would be to stay in one of those rooms!

I have lots more about Animal Kingdom Lodge, so hopefully it will get you even more excited! It's such a gorgeous resort, and you are going to be there for Christmas decorations!

lol, talk about a flash from the past!!! I've been happily luking, looking at your trip report at work, but being unable to post. Our first trip to wdw last Sept. we traveled through Houston the day before the hurricane hit and traveled by car chasing the rainstorms preceeding it as we got closer to Florida. I was calling my niece who was giving us weather updates by color also! When we went in April we flew, thank goodness!! Much more enjoyable with a baby and a toddler!
On our Sept. trip we bought dvc, but we have yet to stay at AK. In Sept. we will be staying at AKL for 2 nights and Kidani for 7. Can't wait! Looking forward to more!

OMG, is this my first post here!!! Geez, I am starting to get bad on here!!!:rotfl2:

You will so love both Jambo House and Kidani! Nine nights would be the perfect length!

:welcome: Don't feel bad! I haven't posted on yours for awhile although I have been following along -- Hollie was cracking me up with her Titanic recreation!
