DisUnplugged and Mousefest

Mousefest is full of conflicts. Another podcaster suggested picking 10 things you want to do. I am going to try that and if other things fit in, I will supplement. Of course I just counted and I have EIGHTEEN meets I think I want to go to. And this after I eliminated 5 or six conflicts.

I wish Lou Mongello would schedule a few meets . . . I especially would like to attend a DSI with him and Jeff Pepper. These are my priorities and all I intend on doing at this time because this is my first time going solo and I would really like to do some events I can't get my DH and DS to do, i.e. afternoon tea and KTTK Tour:

1. DisUnplugged Meet
2. Mousefest Megameet
3. Mousefest 101
4. Meet WDWToday group
5. Lou Mongello DSI [if he has one]
6. Drinking/eating around the World with fellow dis'ers

I'm gonna need a vacation from my vacation . . . more than usual. :santa:

Did anyone else sign up for Ursula's drink around the world meet... I think this years sponsor is Uncle Jimmies Hangover Cure now with Retsin. For whiter teeth, fresh breath and to stop the bed spins.

Methinks that it's going to have to happen on another day, though....maybe the 11th instead. I'm getting the feeling that the 13th is going to be just a tad busy.

Don't worry, though, AskTracy....we're still gonna have to drink together somewhere!

There will be a ton of meets. I'm planning on putting a list together of the meets I'd like to attend so I know where to be and when. I'm also not planning on making very many ADRs.

The DIS Meet will be a must attend.

Everytime I think it would be fun to add the DDP to my reservation - I remember that I need to stay flexible so I can "roll with the flow" so to speak.

I'm up for an "Ursula Drink Around the World in Moderation" for the 12th. :drinking1

Here is the list of the meets I am interested in and think I can actually get to:

Mousefest 101
Mousefest Opening Reception
Dr Scopa's Dolewhip Meet
MVMCP Fireworks Meet
MVMCP Parade Meet
The Magic In Pixels Animal Hunt
Great Movie Ride Meet
Star Tours Meet or Stop Drop and Roll
PodFest(not on schedule yet but I know they have had if for the past 2 years)
Muppet Meet
HoHoHo Lotta Lights
Photowalk on the Boardwalk
Hidden Mickeys of the Epcot Resorts
Mega Mouse Meet
Mousse Fest 2008
Fantasmic Dessert Party
Dis Meet

And there is a scavenger hunt /quest being sponsored that I was hoping to get some people together for. Any takers?

im so excited that ill actually be able to go to mousefest. If it wasnt for my being here as a CP id have no chance. I know that ill have to work like crazy and I wont know my schedule until right before hand so im not even going to look at the events until then. this way I wont get my hopes up. Except for the dis meet...i wouldnt miss that

Count me in - I love a good scavenger hunt/quest. :yay:

I fully expect this event will be the evening of the 13th. Why? Because that's the time of my flight home.

As usual my schedule prevents participating in any DIS event. Per needing to lock in rented DVC points for my resort, I had to book the vacation back in Feb. Not finalizing the MouseFest event until 8 weeks or less out is simply unfair, as many of us were forced to already lock in air, resort, ADR, etc. Sounds like the PodCast cruise is headed for the same "planning" pitfalls.

For this being based from a Disney-specialist travel agency, I'm highly disappointed.

Then you must be disappointed in ALL of the participants of Mousefest, since EVERY SINGLE ONE of the events is subject to change.

As the team has REPEATEDLY said, they are unable to lock in the details due to the extent of their plans and the inability of DISNEY to confirm plans.

I'm sorry it's not going to work out for you, but the dates for Mousefest were announced years ago, and if you wanted to be certain of catching all of the events, you should have booked for the entire date spread.

Hey gang,

I am on the same cruise as Alaskanmommy and will also be heading over to the Mega Mouse Meet straight from the Disney Magic. I do hope that the DIS meet works out to be the night of the 13th, as that is the only night we are able to stay after our cruise. I am totally geeked to meet all of the podcast members.

Sure hard to argue these points. The dates for Mousefest 2008 have been out for years.

Mousefest is always a very busy time, and there's no way to do EVERYTHING! It does help to prioritize and to choose a handful of meets or activities that are important to you, and then work around that.

I'm *very* excited about participating in Mousefest this year! I hope to meet a lot of you there. :cool1:

Due to the nature of the event planned, our hands are tied until Disney confirms.

Announcing the nature of our plans prior to confirmation could possibly lead to disappointing our listeners should Disney not confirm our first choice of events.

This is true of Mousefest and the DIS Unplugged Podcast cruise.

Unfortunately, this is outside the realm of our control.

As soon as we have conformation, you will be the first to know.

I realize that this requires a level of trust.

I would hope that we have earned that trust.

I am so excited about this meet! I have the night of the 13th free! :thumbsup2 I keep checking every day so I don't miss the opportunity to sign up. :surfweb:

You guys are fantastic for doing this in the first place and for free! It's just the luck of the draw if we have something planned already or even if we are in Florida at that time (we normally go in Oct so would have missed all of this).
I could understand if people are paying money upfront but for this lovely surprise I'll take anything :rotfl: even just to meet you guys will be a treat :cool1: I trust you will do something wonderful even if Disney can't confirm your first choice ;)
I agree it is annoying Disney aren't as well organised but it's not like you could change that.

Keep up the wonderful work and roll on December :woohoo:

Kevin: You have absolutely earned our trust. It is impossible to satisfy everyone when so much is going on. Everyone needs to sit back, relax
and let the crew do their thing. You have become to be to so many like family and this will be a family reunion of sorts. What ever you come up with the most important thing is to be together for something we all dearly love. You are the greatest and thanks for coming into all our lives.

ps: give Pete our love.

see ya

John

But the dates have been set for years now....I'm on my 4th MF and I book my room right at the 11 month window if booking DVC. MF dates have been set, as I said before, for years ahead. The 'big' MegaMeet is always on that Sat. The PodCast falls within those parameters....at least I 'think' they do. Shouldn't be an issue.
