Distance to San Diego???

About how long (mileage and time) does it take to get to San Diego/ Chula Vista from DLR? I know what the map things say but with traffic I know it would be different. We would probably be doing it on a Monday (up and down).

My guess would be 100 miles (to Chula Vista) and approx 2 hours. But if you try to drive during rush hour the time would be increased.

Thanks we are wondering if it might be worth it to do a side trip to see some family down there on our trip.

Okay why do I read the thought questions at 1:45 in the morning???

It usually is about the same time from Vegas to LA as it is SD- So about 3-4 hours

We usually just stay on the 15 all the way down- its not a bad drive

actually, I have never done San Diego to Vegas in less than 5 hours. And it seemed like a long and boring drive. If you go and you have kids take plenty of activities.

SD to Vegas is 336 miles. Even if you averaged 70mph with no stops, that is almost 5 hours. I have done it many times and we plan 6 hours plus any stops (meals, etc.).

We made it from DLR to San Diego Zoo on a Monday in about 2.5 hours - however we struck no traffic and didn't leave DLR until close to midday.

Vegas to DLR is about a 5 hour trip and can't comprehend how anyone could think those trips are of a similar length - Vegas is at least twice as far away.
