Hi, I'm new to this side of the boards.:wave2: I've been to Disney World many times but I'm taking my first trip to DL this month. Our hotel is just outside of LAX, how long will it take us to drive to DL? Also how far to Six Flags Magic Mountain?

We're also going to have to be at one of the parks during the weekend (can't be helped). Which one will be less crowded? Goodness, I feel like a Disney newbie again. ;)

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm heading to bed now so I'll check for replies in the morning. Goodnight all.:goodvibes

**** I'm not sure since I've always taken the DL Express. If I remember it's about 45mins by bus. But could be longer depending on traffic. Don't quote me on this.

**** Well DCA is definitely will be less crowded than DL. When we were there last month DL was completely packed (can't walk without bumping to somebody) and DCA was busy but not as crazy busy. Maybe it's because of the size of the park. But definitely DCA.

HAVE FUN!

According to the maps I have looked at for directions DL would be 35 minutes (but this can get way longer during rudh hour so it depends on the time of day and traffic). SFMM is about 90 mins according to the maps, but again that depends on time of day and traffic.

I'd say allow yourselves 45 minutes to an hour from LAX to DL. Is there any way for you to get a hotel closer to the parks for a night or two?

It will be crowded on the weekend at the parks, in answer to your other question. Unlike WDW, DL is a place where locals hang out, so weekends are crowded year round. Get there EARLY (before opening) or your wait times will be huge.

Oh wow. I didn't realize it was so far. Maybe we will look into a hotel closer. My husband is there now working at the El Segundo Chevron plant and he's in a really nice hotel for a GREAT rate so we were hoping to stay there, but it might be worth it to switch. Thanks again.

We arrived at LAX on a Monday around 3:30 and it took us almost an hour and a half to get to Paradise Pier. On the way back (Sunday at 4:00 p.m) it took us closer to 45 mins.

Yeah I would have to guess about 50-90 minutes from LAX to DL

I personally would go to Magic MTN on Saturday. It is usually WAY less crowded than DL. Go to DL during the week.
