We're planning a trip next summer, and we've never stayed at BWV, but would like to try it, because of the proximity to both DHS and Epcot. One of my son is in a wheelchair, and fighting the buses has become too much for us.

How long does it take to walk to DHS and Epcot from the BWV?

Thanks!
W

I'd say 25 minutes or so to DHS and 15 to Int'l Gateway of Epcot. Epcot is faster to walk than boat and DHS may depend on how quickly to boat gets to the dock.

We tend to walk to both.

We walk both, also. You'll want to stay either on the first floor or near the elevator with a wheelchair. I think I would plan on boating to DHS in the heat of the summer; Epcot should still be a nice walk.

boating or walking. Pretty much if the boat is there waiting for epcot , take it otherwise we walk it.

Although for DHS we usually walk it, if you exit out the back instead of out the front where the boardwalk is, the walking path is in the back When i say back, by the waterway between bw and swan dolphin. ie the waterway the boat takes to dhs.

have a great trip.

It's about a mile from BW to DHS. The trip is pretty much flat except for a bit of a hill at the end. There isn't much shade. It's a nice walk.

To Epcot it's probably about .5 mile. There is a bit of a hill at the end of the Boardwalk over a bridge.

Both walks are very nice and relaxing

Have taken the boat to and from DHS it's not bad. Can be crowded sometimes.

Hope this was helpful. Enjoy your trip.

We like BWV because we're still using a stroller and its nice to walk to 2 locations. I would say HS is about a 15 min. walk out the back door and Epcot is 10 min. We have beaten the boats back every time we have walked from HS. Also, if you take a boat from HS or a bus from any park, if you have the energy, we find it much quicker to walk from the Swan than wait for the boat or bus to get around to BW.

The walk to Epcot is very easy, DHS is longer, but the boat is easier than both and MUCH easier than trying to haul scooters or wheelchairs onto the bus. We gave up getting a scooter at the hotel for my DH but will probably go back to one after getting the farthest room at BWV on our last trip. That walk almost equaled the walk to Epcot lol.

Here's a couple of maps which should help with getting around the Epcot resort area.

From the bus drop off at EPCOT to the entrance and out to the lake is about 1000 yards. From the BW boat launch to EPCOT IG entrance is about 500 yards. From the BWV quiet pool to DHS is about 1000 yards.

i just wanted to add that the walks to DHS and EPCOT are one of our favorite parts of vaca:love:
5-10 minutes to EPCOT, and about 15 to DHS (btw, we "stroll", stop to talk to the ducks, look at the foliage, etc). the walks are soooo relaxing, the conversation flows, and they have become an important part of our time there :)

Thanks everybody for the great posts! I think this would be perfect for us, so we'll make sure we get up early on the morning of our 7 month window to give us the best shot at BWV!
