Distance between AK and AKL?

Made lunch reservations at Tusker House but now I'm second guessing myself and thinking that I really want to do lunch at Sanaa. (I chose Tuskeer House because the food gets good reviews, not for the characters.) Would happily do Flame Tree but my teen does not eat BBQ. Sooo . . . how much time would it take out of my day (w/o EMH) to do lunch at Sanaa?

Figure 1.5 to 2 hours, give or take, depending greatly on how much time you linger over the meal.

Like Robo shows, AKL is right around the corner so distance isn't an issue. But time possibly waiting for a bus or Uber, eating, then getting back to AK..I'd also second about 2 hours.

I'd also recommend Tusker House. It's easily our favorite buffet on property and they have some really good food

Thanks for the replies! Now I'm thinking maybe we'll just do a QS lunch and linger at Sanaa over dinner. There is no AK EMH the week we are there so two hours over lunch is most probably not the best use of our time. Just need to check what time is sundown in January so we don't get to the restaurant after dark.

im doing same and have planned exit 11am for 1130 ressie (like out waiting for bus/uber at 11); return 130/2 (walking to our NRJ FP).

Yes, I would have to agree allow about 2 hours. It isn't far, but you may be waiting for a bus for 20 min or so each way. Then you may have to wait on the table, etc. etc. Tusker House is awesome. It is by far my favorite character meal.

Sunset in January is around 5 or 5:30, I think. Does someone in your party have a health condition where you can't be out after dark? I'm not sure I understand that comment.

Flame tree is not far from some of the other QS. Maybe you could send your teen to pick up their food and meet you back at Flame Tree.

I think this is to make sure they can see the animals at Sanaa. If it is too dark, it can be hard to see them if they are even out for you to see them.

No health issues! Just want to make sure we can see the animals.

Gotcha. Wasn’t sure if you were concerned about poor eyesight or something!

At any rate, you’ll probably need to schedule a fairly early dinner if you want to be there while it’s still light out.

I'm seeing that sunset should be some time around 5:45 and that's way too early for dinner if we want to really enjoy the views of the savannah. Now I'm thinking I might still do lunch at Sanaa, even if it takes two hours. It used to be that AK would close right after the 5pm Jungle Jammin' Parade but if it stays open until 8:00 pm we'll have time to do rides after a QS dinner.
