How many people put Disposable Cameras at the tables at the reception?? What cameras did you use and where did you get them? I found some cute Cinderella ones on ebay but still looking at other options.

Thanks :)

We didn't use these because I only wanted good photos of our wedding :rotfl: But one tip I have heard is that sometimes the decorative ones you buy from wedding-supply companies are old or the custom packaging leaks light, which screws up the pictures. So you might want to make sure that you're getting fresh, high-quality disposable cameras from wherever you get them. :thumbsup2

Our wedding is next week, so who knows how it will work out, but we bought Fuji disposable cameras off of Amazon. They received good ratings. The drawback is that they are green and black, but, we decided that, if we were going to use disposable cameras, we wanted decent ones. Plus we have professional photographers (Misty Miotto) and I'm certain everyone will have a digital camera as well. Plus, as lurkyloo said, the wedding themed ones seem a little sketchy quality wise.

We didn't either, for the same reasons as everyone else.

I wanted them but I was afraid to get them because of the quality.

I did see on The Knot, Kodak disposable cameras that were in "wedding colors". They were a bit more money than the normal ones you see but I thought maybe since they were Kodak they would work out better. :confused3

We used Fuji disposable cameras (with the green packaging) and I created a cute wrapper for them for when they were on the tables. I used them only for fun and was no relying on any of the images to be good. Infact the vast majority that I have (hosekeeping at GCH threw out some of the cameras along with other wedding momentos <grrrr>) are horrible. I swear few people knew how to push the button for a flash. That being said, I do have a few cute shots :thumbsup2

You all are going to think I'm horrible...but I'm going to risk it anyway.

A couple of years ago my cousin and her husband celebrated their 25th anniversary with a big party and they had the disposable cameras on the tables. Some other cousins and I decided to have a little fun with the cameras and went around taking pictures of people just as they were opening their mouths to take a bite of food. It was really funny!! :rotfl: My cousin told us later she wondered why there were all these pictures of people eating. She appreciated the humor (thank God) and still enjoyed the pictures.

Because of that, I agree with the other brides that you should expect that these pictures are meant to be "fun" and not to give you good shots of things at your reception. In fact, I would make it a "game" for your guests. Give them a list of things to take pictures of...like "oldest couple dancing" or "baby and parent dancing" or "everyone at the table next to you" or something like that. You can even decide to do some funny stuff (a la people eating) so that you can have some fun too!

:tiptoe: I'm off to hide now...

Denise,

The list idea is great! That way you can make sure some of the pictures may be decent...:rotfl:

Here is a link to the Kodak disposable cameras. They are actually on sale for $4.99 (regularly $7.95).

I like those cameras... but they are 800 speed film, does anyone have experience taking these through the airport? You cant check it into you bags and it also cant be put through the scanner through security or it will ruin your film.

Thanks

1 - we used the knot.com re-packaged ones....out of 7 cameras we only got about 15-20 decent photos. If I had to do it all over again, Im not sure...we wasted a lot of money, however, I do have some cute photos to tie me over until Randy has our photos done!

2 - I wish I had done the list idea. I was going to, but just ran out of time. It would have been better than 20 photos of the person next to the camera-man lol. (I did put cards up instructing to use the table characters (we used fab 5 characters as our table names/markers) in the photos...only one table did it..but they got pretty creative! see below lol)

3 - I took a bunch of film w/ me to South America last year. I kept all the cameras in a zippy bag (clear) and had them with me to carry on. At the security check point I handed them, AROUND the machine, to the security guard and had no problem doing this. :)

Here is what you can expect with table cameras:

Good photos:

hth!

If you can afford it.... do it! They're a lot of fun.... and the "wallflowers" at your wedding that wont be in many pics may actually take and be in some real good pics. Just get cameras with a flash and develop them some place you trust! Or right onto a cd, that way you have them to email. But do it... it's a fun touch!!!

I do want to see the pictures though cause who knows what my crazy family took pictures of lol...and the kids lol.

OMG I wish I would have known about the list idea. That is so cute!

looking back, disposable cameras is the one thing i wish we didn't spend $$ on...even though i found a good online deal, i don't think we got 1 good picture out of the 10 or 12 cameras we had. the kids at the reception got ahold of most of them, so we had about, oh 50 photos of my 7-year-old niece's nose and the inside of her mouth  . needless to say, i was really mad to have spent the money to develop them!!!

but, you never know, you might get some good shots...just don't depend on it ;)
