Hello: I have asked this question on two other boards not realizing there was a collectors board. Silly me.

Well I have a collection of snowglobes, and was wondering for some tips on how to display them. At present mine are on a fireplace mantel and on top of an entertainment centre holding our television and stereo.

Hubby is thinking about buying some sort of display cabinet.

Thanks,

Deb.

A display cabinet is a great idea. But as long as you are buying one you might as well buy two cabinets. You will run out of room in the first cabinet very quickly.
I have mine out on a large bookshelf and want to get a cabinet or two when I finish doing over my dining room. The snowglobes seem to be magnets for dust and cat hair. I spend more time dusting them than I do enjoying them. and every time I dust one I wind up breaking something off the snowglobe.
I started with one globe in 1998, and I now have over 65. Good luck on your new collection. Peggie

I too use a bookcase for most of mine--here's a tip--TAKE THE GLOBES OFF OF THE FIREPLACE MANTLE!!!

The heat from the fireplace will cause air bubbles in your globes (as will extreme cold as we found out the hard way!) Keep an eye on the ones that are on top of your entertainment center because of the heat from the TV. If you notice any type of air bubble forming, move it immediately.

A display cabinet would be nice for them. I have a curio cabinet that was intended for my snowglobes, but it has been overtaken by dolls, watches, and bears.

I now have over 50 snowglobes in my collection.

I just got a new snowglobe display. Arts & Collectibles were kicked out of the Disney Store, the displays were offered to the CM's (for a price). One of the Seattle stores begged my Mom to take all 4 of their hands (she was just after 2 of them) and so the other 2 ended up at my house.

Hi Hope:

Wow, thanks for the pics, it looks great.

You could open your own disney store, in fact your display looked better than my disney store here in canada that I was just at yesterday. I had noticed that they did not have the glass cabinets that used to hold the arts and collectibles and snow globes, I wonder if they are doing the same and not having them anymore. What they did have was tons of halloween costumes,

Just wondering, the large white rabbit on top of your dumbo display is that a cookie jar? Love your collection. The glass cabinets are tops, lucky you.

Deb.

Thank you :)

The White Rabbit is a "Big Fig." It's a resin sculpture. The rabbit's watch is a clock too. They used to sell these in the larger stores & Gallery stores. You can also get them from the parks, and sometimes the catalog has some. They sell for about $125.

Hope,

Your Disney display in your living room is absolutely beautiful.
I collect the big Disney snowglobes and have about 25. I've only been collecting since June. I've bought as many as I can at the Disney Stores and have been on Ebay buying others. I've asked my husband for two curios as a Christmas present to display them.

Now I'm looking to add lithographs and Disney figurines to match each snowglobe.

HOpe,
I can't wait for my kids to get home and show them your pictures.
I am not the craziest in the land. They think my collections are too much and now they can see for themselves that someone out there is worse than me. Or better than me, wow, nice stuff...
I took my son back to campus the other day and he asked me to let him out at the gate instead of driving him to his dorm. He said my car looks like a reject from the 100 years of Disney parade.
He called it the Mitsubshi Galant disney edition. Peggie

Wow... That room is amazing.. I love it.

ROTFL!! Peggie, you do know he really does still love you - it is just your car he doesn't like :)!
