Weve booked this for our trip for next year..

I ve read the gumph, but how does it work exactly is it like a card sized thing and all 4 of us are on it?? What i mean is how do Disney and us keep track of how many dining credits we have left??

Anyone got any stories is it a good thing?? I know we have to leave a tip in cash..

Hi! We were on the DDP in August and thought it was brilliant. (Helped as it was included free in our package!).
I presume you are staying onsite?
You get a credit card type card that acts as your room key, Disney pass and DDP. Every member of your party gets one and has all the DPP info on it. You are allocated a snack, a counter service and a table service credit for each day. When you settle your account, anyone in the party offers their card and sign for the meal (for small amounts of money ie snacks you do not need to sign) you are given a receipt showing your remaining balance. You can also request a balance from your hotel services. Tips are INCLUDED in the DDP, we checked at our first meal, it also becomes evident as if looking for a reccommendation as to what to order, the staff do not have a problem in pointing out the more expensive items. Their tip in a percentage of the final bill. I believe that snacks are anything up to the value of $4-5 (depends on what park you are in), so do the math! - it's cheaper to buy a drink and use your snacks for treats for home like cookies and lollipops. With the C/S and T/S you get a soft drink main course and sweet. Don't forget the character meals - they take 2 T/S credits, but well worth it. Do your research and pre-book your chosen restuarants as soon as you can. Have a fantasmic time!!

For DDP in 2008 Tips are no longer included and neither is the appetizer for the TS meal.

Claire ;)

That clears up a lot of questions..:wizard:

Just to say that not all character meals ar 2 TS credits. Think that is only CRT. We went to Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree and Crystal Palace and it was only 1 TS credit.

We did the DDP this year, we usually had a CS breakfast at the Hotel and then a TS at night, the CS breakfast was omlette, waffles etc and two drinks. As we had refillable mugs we used the drinks to take into the parks and therefore we didn't use snack credits.

4 days of the holiday left and we still had 37 snack credits left, so we raided the shop and bought loads of cookies, mints and candy home for gifts for the nieces and nephews and we still have a cupboard full.:thumbsup2

Hi Tashasmum

We have purchase the DDP too for our trip and was wondering about how or what you could get for a snack. The Disney literature says a drink, piece of fruit or chips!

But are you saying that they let you buy any food item so long as it didn't go over a certain value?

Can you do this in any shop e.g. could you use it in the Disney store at Down Town Disney to but a bag of sweets?

Yes, we were allowed to use it on things upto $4. We used it in the shops at different resorts and also at Goofy's Candy Co.

We got great snacks at Goofy's make your own crispy heads were awesome, also big pieces of fudge!

One great tip is when ordering a CS always ask for a large drink (they normally give regular but large is included too), we used to get one large drink to share and for our other drinks we would get bottled water (again ask for large) to take around the parks!

Pleased to see that we can have our morning muffins (ooh err) at the hotel as a snack credit.

Are you given a booklet saying what you can get and where when you check in?

Thanks awfully

No booklet. The standard thing is $4 or less. You can buy boxes of entemans donuts and bagels that will last a few days.
