Disneyworld trip report for Sept 17th through the 23rd
Dining
Thursday 4:15pm Sci-Fi Theater
Friday 2:35pm Coral Reef
Saturday 6:30pm Chefs de France
Sunday 8:10am Crystal Palace
Monday 1:30pm Teppen edo
Tuesday 8:00pm Le Cellier
Dining plan took a lot of advanced planning, which I enjoyed doing. It was way too much food, which you always hear people mention. After awhile, we got tired of running back to Epcot World Showcase to eat. I would have enjoyed downgrading the table service for a counter service, which was also way too much food. All restaurants, while incredibly busy, sat us at our reserved time with no issues. It was a great experience to try out new restaurants which we normally would eat at.
Highlight by far the best experience we had was at Coral Reef. Our server was Tony, who was incredible. I believe he said that he had worked for the mouse for over 13 years. We talked about canceling our reservations at Le Cellier to go back again with Tony! Food at the Coral Reef was ok, but it was the service and the atmosphere of the restaurant which made it stellar for us.
Le Cellier food was absolutely incredible. I had the coffee rubbed strip steak which was like buttah. Thankfully we didnt cancel our reservations since they were so hard to come by.
Lowpoint honestly, we didnt really have one. Again, it was way too much food and hated being tied down to Epcot for the majority of our dining.
Hotel Pop Century
I see no physical differences between the value hotels and the moderates. We have stayed at the Port Orleans and the All Stars Music before this trip. Pops room was comfortable and served its purpose a place to crash after being at the parks from opening to closing. The food court was also convenient and had a good variety to choose from.
The one thing that strikes me with the value hotels is the large number of people staying there. At all times the place seemed crazy packed with people, from the food courts to the swimming pools. There is nothing relaxing about staying at a value hotel. I honestly feel sorry for anyone whose room is by a pool. It was like a huge party was going on with screaming kids running around 24/7.
Our next trip we are going to save up and splurge on the Polynesian Hotel. We checked it out this trip and loved the casual elegance. While I love the Grand Floridian, I never feel comfortable just hanging out there unless Im dressed up, which I dont like to do on vacation.
