We just returned from Disneyworld.
We stayed at Wilderness Lodge. Our room was in the first floor. I felt the location was great. We were just around the corner from Roaring Forks, close to walking outside to the pool or path to the boat and around the corner from laundry. We could also see the Magic kingdom fireworks from our room through the trees!

Breakfast was perfect for us at Roaring Forks. We aren’t big breakfast people. So I usually got a croissant and sometimes side of scrambled eggs. They have muffins and hot meals also.

We had lunch at Geyser point at our resort Wilderness Lodge. Great outdoor seating. You can order at at the bar or take out and sit at the tables around that area.

One of the boats was down at Wilderness Lodge in the morning so our wait was a little longer to go to Magic kingdom. Also they don’t go when it is lightning. So you need to find other transportation. They slowed us down a bit when it rained. It is good to know your options for transportation.

Loved having the reusable mugs. We even took them to the parks. We were able to ask for water and put them in our mug. I put the mugs in a ziplock baggie.

The laundry rooms went down in the middle of doing laundry. I guess this is what can happen with laundry machines being through an app. The resort was so nice and let me and the other two women who had laundry half finished use the DVC laundry room to finish our laundry. They were working again the following day.

I highly recommend the drone show over at Disney Springs. We got there later and we stood over in the grass on the side. The best view is behind House of blues on the path. You have to line up. They have the path taped.

We had cookies from Summer House in Disney Springs. We liked the cookies.

First day at Magic kingdom almost every ride we were one stopped for a little bit while we were on the ride! I guess I was surprised by that. It’s a small world stopped for a little bit, people mover, Tiana, Peter pans flight. I can’t remember what else.
But so happy to ride the rides and laugh and have fun.

We took the sky liner from Epcot to Hollywood studios. You have to get off and switch at Caribbean Beach station I believe to switc. Nice relaxing ride.

It was so hot! I got drained. Needed to be hydrated and I felt better.
It rained on and off. Can’t do anything about the weather. I am glad we brought the ponchos. We used them a lot!

My favorite iced tea is Joffrey’s... peach iced tea! They have kiosks all over.

We had dinner at Tepan Edo in Epcot and it was entertaining and we enjoyed the food.

We had lunch at The Plaza in Magic Kingdom. Nice break with air conditioning. The turkey club was good. My husband and I split the turkey club and fries.

I forgot to mention that we had lunch in Epcot at the boulangerie in France. I got the ham and cheese croissant and my husband got the chicken pesto. Very good But hard to find seating.

All in all you just need to go with the flow. You may not get on every ride. It may rain. But we had such a good time. It’s such a happy place. Everyone is so nice.
Loved our stay at Wilderness Lodge!

Enjoyed reading this.

I was there Monday to Friday and stayed at the Contemporary so there's a chance we were on a bus together lol.
The rain at MK on Tuesday was crazy.
I was at EPCOT Thursday during the crazy thunderstorm and then at MK later when it rained again.

😊 Yes we were at Epcot on Thursday also. Didn’t like dodging the rain. We got wet running out to the car. We drove to Epcot. It started small drops and got larger real quick.
We were at Disneyworld Tuesday night through Saturday.
It poured on Friday night. We were at Disney springs. We went back to the resort. My husband got soaked running from the parking lot. We didn’t take our ponchos. 😞

The crowds for the fireworks at Magic kingdom on Wednesday night were insane. I’ve never seen it like that but it has been a while since we have been to disneyworld.

How was your trip? I didn’t expect that much rain. Not used to the heat since I moved to California is. Not so humid.

Glad to hear you had a lovely trip.
We had lunch at The Plaza in Magic Kingdom.
The Plaza is a little gem that doesn’t get suggested or mentioned often. It’s kinda like a diner - in front of the castle! How was your meal? We haven’t been in a few years but think we’ll try it again next trip.

My husband and I split the turkey club. It was good. My husband especially liked it. they had it on black bread for halloween. It came with fries and it was just a nice break from the heat. The restaurant isn't really very big.

I've seen worse but omg I had gone to HS and EPCOT and then to MK for late night and I had never even thought about the fireworks when we made a pirate LL for 9pm haha.
We were fighting all the way through those crowds and CM's were trying to redirect us towards Tomorrowland even though we were on the Emporium side and obviously needed to go that direction.

We were not planning on staying the entire time but we didn't end up leaving until after 1am. We got back to the room about 1:25am and I didn't even bother to brush my teeth knowing I was getting up at 5:45am lol.

Had a great time. We often go in August so we have become well prepared for the rain and heat.
Honestly the heat wasn't even too bad since it was cloudy part of the time.
Only time we really sweat was after having a booze milkshake at HS and then walked a lot.

Booked a Bounce Back for next August.

didn't see bounce back.
Sorry I didn't mean to send that yet.
I did not see the bounce back
They blocked off the side routes and you were stuck with the crowd at a stand still .

I didn't notice if there was a Bounce Back in the room but I know that you have 7 days from check out date to book a future stay with a discount.
I did get the email about it the day after I got home.
But if you just call and say you want to book a Bounce Back offer they will look up your info.

I didn’t get the email. I will call tomorrow.

I don’t know where to write this. We noticed a ton of people at Orlando airport with their luggage all sitting around. Near the food court etc.

You can call extension #8844 from the phone in your WDW room for Bounce Back too.

Interesting. Everyone was sitting in the chairs before you go through security and in food court yesterday. Everyone had their large baggage not carry on. We could't find any info. People were laying on the floor.
Oh that stinks. My 80yo FIL had travel interruption yesterday (not MCO though). It’s never fun. Thankfully they made it to their destination this morning. Altogether the 5 hour flight ended up taking 28 hours from leaving the house to their resort. Their trouble had more to due with travel agent than anything else though.

This may have bben the trouble at MCO yesterday (Sat Aug 24)

“A possible cyber attack prompted massive delays at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport early Saturday morning - and passengers were asked to check with their airline for information…

The flight information board, listed some of the flights cancelled due to the outage including: Chicago, Denver, Raleigh-Durham, Dallas, Toronto, Charlotte, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Houston, among others.

Those flights with significant delays were Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa, among others.”

Well we are home now. but I didn't get an email. Is the price the same for everyone? Is it a good price?

Yes its for everyone as far as I know.
The current offer is up to 35% off room rate and it has dates from now through October 2025.
If I'm doing the math correctly I got 23% off of my room at POLY. It seems like a reasonable discount but its not that great when the rack rate went up a lot in the last few years. But I'll take what I can get since I love POLY.

That must have been why. We flew to Houston for another connection and it was fine.
Sorry to hear about your FIL’s delay! So Hard!
