Disneyworld and then Cruise?

Homosassa State Park - it was a bit of a drive (we had a rental car), but it was an awesome day.

Thank you so much- yes I suspected it would be in that direction. We are driving from Orlando to Palm beach shores and I am so hoping to spot some manatees toward the Eastern side of the state. It will be in October and so the waters will still be warm out in the ocean. Therefor they are less likely to come inland. Here's hoping!

We do what ever works best with the cruise we are going on. Our next cruise we are going to WDW for 4 days afterwards. We don't mind it either way.

This is a fun way to spend a vacation, Spend several days at the parks/resorts get pooped out and then off to a nice relaxing cruise.

Next week my family and I are going to WDW for 10 days then we are off to the Eastern Caribbean on DCL for 7 nights.

last cruise we did before and after. I like the after better, vacation isn't finished when you leave the ship

We just got back from our first ever Disney cruise on Saturday. Hubby and I were talking on the way back about how going to Disney World after the cruise would not have worked for us. Something you may want to consider if you have kids is their age and how much excitement they can handle. Our kids loved, loved, LOVED the cruise (as did hubby and I)! But by the end of it, the near constant stimulation and excitement had my 4 year old strung pretty high. Mega melt-downs started happening the evening before the last day. We made sure to have down time each day but what she really needed was a day of peace, quiet, and her normal schedule. Disney World before the cruise may have worked for us but I kind of doubt it. When my kids are older-I think they would love the park/cruise combo but it isn't for us right now. Just a thought!

Homosassa is a refuge for injured manatees, so they are always there. There are so many other things to do there too. Many in our party felt that is was the best Florida day we had that trip, and we did Universal, IoA and Blizzard Beach too, so that says a lot.

We have done it both ways and definitely prefer WDW before the cruise rather than after. We found it very challenging to do it the other way around.
