disneystore.com is now selling park merchadise online

DH just sent me a link he was forwarded...

disneystore.com now sells items you could once only get in the parks or on Disney property (ie: Mickey ears, autograph books, monorail set, etc ...).

Check it out and let me know what you think. Personally, I think it stinks and takes away from the magic of getting certain items ONLY at WDW or DLR.

We have another thread talking about this same thing. I, myself, was happy to see I could get my daughter the graduation mickey ears yesterday, but by the time I got home they were sold out and now they are not even on the website at all. There are a couple other things they are already sold out of also, but I am waiting for a CM to get back to me on the graduation ears so I can hopefully order them. There is another site that also sells park merchandise, but the ears I want are $10 more.

If you want the graduation ears, you could try calling the parks directly at 407-363-6200.

In terms of taking some of the magic away, I initially thought the same thing. Then I remembered, I could have always called the parks directly to get what I wanted at any time. They just made it easier to visualize by putting on the website. I think they things they're selling on the website are pretty generic park merchandise anyway. I prefer to buy the items that are limited time items, like F&W, Anniversary year merchandise, etc.

There is just something about purchasing the items at WDW that make is extra special to me. We have a little bit of WDW in our house ... the kitchen (Mickey and Minnie mugs and pixie dust coffee) ... our home office is our designated "Disney room" with Cinderella Castle proudly displayed and hats, picture frames, plush Mickeys, etc...

When I look at these items it brings back the memories of when and where I bought them and on which WDW trip. Personally, I don't plan to use this new site. JMO

I tried to call yesterday, several times, but did not get an answer, I have also emailed them (I have had better luck that way in the past) but have not heard from them. I have ordered them from another website
