Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I just asked one of the concierge attendants. My son has Celiac so I get it. GF items by request at breakfast but still plenty of items like fruit, cheese, meat, eggs. Evenings chef will be happy to come up & discuss options. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I usually just go with whatever is readily available, and don't make a fuss about it. I kind of consider a Celiac diagnosis as a gift... you know the kind that pretty much keeps you from eating all the good stuffo_O I always feel like a PITA, having the chef do special for me, but at Disney they are so very accommodating. And those gluten free cinnamon donuts at Tusker House are sooooo good! I guess i'll just ask if I'm feeling a sweet treat.

Yesterday was our 60 day to go mark, whoohoo YC CL so beyond excited. I went to book fast passes, and noticed absolutely nothing for Wishes on 5-9,10,11. Wasn't listed as unavailable, just not there at all. Anyone know if they're just not doing them anymore with the show ending? We will see it regardless, just wanted to get a fp for a guaranteed viewing spot.

FP+ for Wishes has been gone for awhile now

It's a beautiful day at Disney so what am I doing? Sitting in the club lounge stuffing my face with chips! To be fair I did go to Epcot for a couple hours this morning. Headed to DS later. If I can drag myself away from the chips. ;) Art Smith's fried chicken might be the only thing that will do it.

Ugh--our 60 days for FP+ is tomorrow! Keeping my fingers crossed that we are able to get what we want. :sad2:

Good luck! I found that there seemed to be a lot available in the evenings, but the morning ones were harder to find, and since we're morning park people it was a bit annoying! I do suspect this has more to do with their system than big crowds though, I noticed if I refreshed the page enough, often one would suddenly show up close to the time frame we were looking for. So if you don't see the time frame you want, just try a few times and it may suddenly appear!

Thanks for the heads up. We are also morning people and prefer a.m. FP+ for the most part.

Thanks for the sunshine and refreshing breezes. DH will be especially pleased about it. He can't wait to escape the cold weather. :)

That drink sounds delicious. Is it a "real drink" or did you just make it up? I would love to try it. ::yes::

Thanks! We actually never got them or wanted them on any other trip. We usually just found a spot and made it work. I was only considering the FP for this upcoming vacation, because Wishes is retiring. Thought about the Wishes desert party at tomorrowland terrace, but having celiacs means very limited desserts and no booze/ cocktails included, $100 pp seems steep. Business as usual for Wishes this time too:)

Yeah, the chips are addictive. We miss them and all of the BC since returning home!

Just wanted to pop in to do my 60 day happy dance! :cool1: Can't WAIT to be back at the YC!

Got FP+ all set, although pickings were slim for this trip, seemed like there was much more of a selection for our trip last September! Not sure if this is just the FP+ system being dumb or if we just picked a busy week in May! Either way, we got most of what we wanted so we're happy!

Go back and look again at the times. I swear they open up more times after the initial period to book.

I got mine on Wednesday (it was supposed to be Thursday but it allowed me to book a day early. Pixie Dust) . I rearranged a lot of my initial times

I recently booked a split stay Poly/YC but that was based on the rooms looking the way they did in the pics (very nautical and fun). If the test room is what the real rooms look like we will want to rebook something else. The renovated rooms do not appeal to me and I know my daughters (11, and 16) will not care for them as well. Does anyone have recent experience with rooms that have been renovated? We are supposed to be there in mid August and I imagine we would end up with a renovated room by then. I would rather go full Poly if that is the case. The new room look is too generic for us.

No one knows which room you will get, but by mid August I would say there is a good chance you could get a renovated room
Good Luck

is there a map for yacht club rooms? Room paid off, 47 days to go

Not a good one. There is the outdated Disney Zone map that I have posted on Page 1, Post 9. But that reflects the resort when there were only standard and water view categories- no garden view rooms.

We don't have one of those excellent detailed maps like someone was able to covertly obtain for the Beach Club.

:sad2:

I have to eat gluten free, did you request the doughnut on the spot? Or did they have them readily available? Just curious for an upcoming May trip. When we stayed club level at BC, they brought me an entire loaf of bread for toast each morning
Thanks!

Edit/ Sorry. I see this was an old post. I did not read correctly. Been a long day.

I checked with HockeymomR about the club level accommodations for her GF diet and specifically how she got the doughnut.

"The night before the chef had given me 4 donuts in individual containers for the length of our stay!!! That helped to keep them fresh. He was awesome with giving me gluten free cookies as well. But I distinctly remember the donuts because he gave me several and said keep them in your refrigerator and you will have them ready in the morning. He was great.

The chef was really Awesome with helping me with gluten free items in the lounge as well and make me special desserts for several of the nights.
❤️❤️❤️"

I asked her if they were good and she said:

"Yes, think so. if I remember, I do think that my husband may have treated himself to one of them."

:goodvibes

Thank you so much! That is good to know. And how thoughtful of the chef to give you several to keep instead of having to ask each day. And yes, I'm sure my husband would partake as well. :)

Hi, we are going back to the Beach club from Aug 15-25 for my daughters sweet 16 trip! We have stayed at the Beach club 2 other times and it is my daughters favorite!! then we are jumping ship and heading over to Universal for 5 days! My daughter has not been since she was 3 and my son has never been so they are very excited to experience it. I am looking to do something special for my daughter but I am not sure what yet-maybe a firework cruise or something to celebrate her 16th bday. I was going to do a specialty cake but have decided against it because I am spending enough for the cake for her big party at home we are having! Any recommendations of something to do for her? We go pretty much every year so I want something different and special for her

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

A fireworks cruise would be excellent- we have a few reviews of the Illuminations cruise out of the YC Marina on Page 1, Post 5. There is the dessert party for the oh-so-awesome Star Wars Fireworks at Hollywood Studios. Also, friends of mine recently did Tiana's (dessert party)/special viewing for the Festival of Fantasy parade. All of these are probably pretty expensive, but definitely memorable!

Hey y'all! My husband and I just got back a few days ago from a stay at YC CL. We had a renovated room. I posted some photos over in the Club Level board (it's a few pages back now), but I've also posted about it on our blog if y'all wanna take a look at the new rooms with higher-res pics than what Disboards allows.

http://www.wdwfor2.com is the site. If anyone has any questions about the new rooms or CL, ask away and I'll try to answer!

Thank you, thank you, thank you once again for your spectacular pictures and link to your blog. May I use these on Page 1 of this thread, in our review section (Post 16) and in the Yacht Club and Club Level- specific posts?

Hi Everyone! We are attending a conference in late Nov/early Dec. and debating whether or not to stay at BC or YC. I prefer the look of the BC rooms and it's been 25 years since I stayed there (vs last year YC) BUT with the rooms being brand new I am tempted to stay again at YC. I can't decide...so I'm asking...what would you do? Just like to hear people's opinions... :)

:welcome: back!

As another poster suggested, if a full balcony is important to you, you may want to go with the Yacht Club.

The rooms at the Beach Club are "new-ish" so for me it would come down to the style you prefer.

I just had my first stay at the Yacht Club in October- honestly, I would be happy at either resort.

Next week Hubby and I are taking the boys to Universal Orlando.

Since I know Dee will ask, we are planning on hitting CowFish, Margaritaville and Finnegans. We are considering Emeril's but the service and food have been getting poor reviews. Toothsome is charging entree prices for their desserts so if we go there it will probably only be for ice cream. I doubt that anyone will be able to eat an entree and one of those giant desserts in the same sitting so I'm thinking this would not be the place to take teens boys that over order food that they can't always finish, even with their appetites.

Nom! Nom! Nom!!!

Cowfish is our favorite! Margaritaville is up there too. We have not tried Finnegans in all of our trips.

Food porn would be welcome (but not expected)- I know that's my thang, not yours!

I'll pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

look at the blog or the photos recently posted by Ewoks. I'm sure others will be posting pictures of the rooms in the coming weeks.
