Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Those are some seriously cool perfume bottles. I'll take Maleficent, thank you!

Oh My! I'm thinking that my favorite Minion "Mini Me" will be all over that! I can see her now, grabbing that bottle and heading to her room with it!

Remember when we were kids and we would get into our Mom's make up and perfume? I still remember the beating I got for wasting a half a tiny bottle of Chanel number 5 on my kindergarten age butt. :sad2: When you're a kid MORE perfume is better... Right???

Oh my. Our wonderful bride group suffered a tradgey today. One of our wonderful ladies who was just at Disney this week, and had a photoshoot with the amazing Randy Chapman took ill when she got home. She lost her life this morning to meningitis. She was only 30. Life is so cruel at times.
I am so sorry to hear this. :grouphug: Life is way too short sometimes :(

I posted this in the CL thread but thought I'd try to get comments here too

Some of the latest posts in the CL thread have me questioning what I want to do
DH and I are currently booked for F&W next month.
We have a split stay between BWI (Water View) and BC (Garden View)
A Standard CL room opened up and I was thinking we'd really enjoy it. The BC portion of the trip is over the weekend and we'll be at Epcot less and the Resort more.
But so many poor experiences make me question now should I just leave things alone.
We really loved our CL stays at AKL and WL. DH has missed the experience our last few trips so I wanted to surprise him.
What would you do? Leave things alone and stay with our garden view or switch? Money is not a huge factor, we can swing the cost but I don't want a sour taste from poor CL experience.
And while I'm asking, are they still serving (vs. self service) the adult beverages at BC? Even beer?

What do you plan on doing for breakfast? For me, the best part of CL is the convenient and satisfying breakfast.

As far as I know, it is still CM service at CL. There has been mixed info about whether a CM will let you take an extra can of beer or two back to the room or not- it may depend on who is working in the lounge.

Hopefully others with recent stays can chime in for you.

I know the last time I was there it was kinda mixed, I was told they were having CM serve them was because people were hoarding them in their rooms. But I have a trick for this since I drink bud light. I just bring a few bottle caps with me and take the 2 beers as per state law to the room put caps back on them and put them in the mini fridge still going to be fresh in a day or 2, but i dont mind the whole getting them from a CM

Sorry Housekeeping wasn't great for you...we had the opposite experience. My husband had a birthday button and he had to take it off so he wouldn't get any more "Happy B'days" (He's Mr. Grumpy! lol) Our room number was 1541 by the Quiet pool by the Secret Entrance (we didn't go to Epcot) but on our first night, my girls and I walked over to see the fireworks from the Bridge (pajamas and no shoes, not the classiest but one of my favorite, favorite moments!!) Our room was the corner room on the first floor on the right.
We stayed at the YC on the first floor (gazebo view) in late August and one of my best memories was the same - my grown children, my mom and I would step about 20 steps out our patio door and onto the benches by the marina building in our pjs too and watch the epcot fireworks to the left at 9:00 p.m. and then within 5 minutes after that finale we would see the Frozen fireworks to the right. It was an amazing experience that we did many nights and a very fond memory for sure!

We haven't nailed down what we'll do for breakfast. When we don't stay CL we usually bring breakfast bars in our bags. Breakfast on the lounge was one of the main perks that go me to thinking I would like CL again.

Are guests allowed to lock the ground floor room from the outside patio door? I'm thinking of requesting a ground floor room for my upcoming November trip.

It's not a Matter of being allowed to lock the patio door from the outside, the locks are not designed to work that way. If you go out the patio door it will be unlocked.

Good Morning! Please add us to the trip list: kimj88 Jan 27 - 1 Feb, BCV (split stay with Poly 1/23-1/27). THANKS!!!

:welcome:

Will do!!!

:cool1:

thank you for adding us! I had a question but it was already answered... No on the renting a cot for our younger son :( This was a perk at WLV, and BWV to have the murphy bed... oh well he will sleep on the floor. My next question was if we want a view of the quiet pool, is there any section that is best to request?? thank you!

Quiet pool view is not one of the online room requests available when you do the online checkin, but I believe you can call to add "Quiet Pool View, please" to your reservation.

Note- the option for full balcony is confusing since all of the villas have at least a full balcony.

DVC friends: how do you make a room request? CRO or Member Services or does it depend on whether you have booked directly with Disney or if you are renting points/own?

:goodvibes:

Any suggestions or strategies for room requests? Have never stayed at BC before. We want to be away from the elevator for maximum quiet but would love to be close to lobby. Long shot?

:welcome: to this thread!

Your request could be "Close to Lobby, please"

Requests can vary from person to person depending on what is most important to you. Some of the popular requests the Beach Club are close to lobby/pool/transportation (all the same), full balcony (only about 50% of the rooms at the resort have full balconies, the rest are smaller standing-only Juliet balconies), daybed or other requests based on location (upper floor, first floor), etc.

Make sure your most important request is listed first or consider making it your only request so that the room assigners know what your priority is.

:thumbsup2

And yep Dee. You can add me to "The List". Lee Ann and I will be at BCV's April 14 - 18th for the Star Wars Weekend Race. Back home!

:woohoo:

So happy to add you!

That should be a fun race!

:chewy: :yoda:

Booking our August 2016 trip today - one night at GF, 5 at Poly, 5 at Yacht Club (almost did Beach Club again but decided at the last minute to try somewhere new). Can't wait to get back to Stormalong Bay - I miss my sand-bottom pool ;)

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:goodvibes

We are so excited to be staying at Beach Club for the first time! We did 1 night at Yacht Club last trip and it was just a tease! We will be at Beach Club 10/26-11/3. Can't wait!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:thumbsup2

We just decided to arrive a day early to Disney and our current resort is fully booked. So after much debate we picked BC for our one night. So excited about our first time at Stormalong Bay.

With 5 of us we figured it was cheaper to spend the night there in one room and take advantage of the pool rather than spend money on an extra park day or add the water park option.

Since we're splitting the room cost between 2 families it not only was a cheaper option but it's allowing me to be able to justify staying at BC.

So after that long ramble we'll be checking in on Sunday 9/27 for a night.

:welcome:

Sounds like a smart plan.

You will be able to use Stormalong Bay on your checkin and checkout day.

There is a lot of info and many pictures of the pool complex in Post 2 and 3 on Page 1 of this thread.

Enjoy!

:welcome: to this thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for November. BC or YC?

:cool1:

I don't think there is a way to lock the patio door from the outside.

After a great vacation at the BCV, checkout day is NOT going well. Our DME pickup time was 6:30am but no bus came until 7:10! Then, we still stopped at 2 other resorts. We didn't get on the road to the airport until 7:35. With a 9:25 flight this had me quite anxious. Luckily we got to the gate alright expecting to board any minute. Now, a flight delay because of maintenance. No expectation on delay time yet.

I opted to not select any of the online check-in requests for my upcoming DVC stay. Since I am a member and staying on points, I called Member Services and had them note on my reservation: "courtyard view please".
