Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We requested king bed for our 25th anniversary trip and did not get one! We also did not get a quiet location which was our second request. We did however get full balcony.

I'm sorry that didn't work out for you. We'll be fine if it doesn't obviously, just hoping!

So what kind of success rate have people had getting a king bed request? It's the only request I plan to make. We were fortunate and got one at Poly last January, but I wasn't sure how many rooms at BC actually have king beds.

Many, many stays and never once was it granted. We did get a nice room (our favorite) 1523 with a queen, day bed and pull out single sleeper chair--almost as good as a king. It was a water view.

There are approximately 12 king bed rooms at the Beach Club. So your chance of getting one is slim.

Curious as to what section (standard room) in BC is recommended. Will be there for the Foos and Wine Fest, first time BC guests. Floor and even a room recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Trying to get a feel for the layout and I am having a hard time narrowing it down. Thank you!!!
There’s a room chart on the first page of this thread that will give you an idea of where the standard view rooms are located. The majority of them are on the 3rd and 4th floors and above the restaurant area. There’s a few on the 2nd floor that face the entrance to the resort, too. I would request a full balcony and close to the elevators. :)

I just read that the walkway to HS will be altered and will add an additional 10 minutes to walk to Hollywood studios. I have to say I am really disappointed about this. It is already a lengthy walk and we were planning on walking this trip to HS for TSL I know in the grand scheme of things ten minutes is no big deal with how much you walk at disneyworld. But Im def disappointed, how long is the pathway going to be blocked for does anyone know???

The path has been like this for a little bit according to others in that post. We walked this path when we were there a couple weeks ago and in my opinion the pictures of the new path make it look much worse than it is, we walked from the YC and it certainly didn't take us an extra 10 min and we walked it at least 4 times.

The path was altered to not go right around the water and cut through part of the parking lot. This has just recently changed again and you will now be walking more. @rteetz posted this very helpful image:

The thick yellow is where the current modified path will lead you. You need to walk all the way down the blue shaded part, and cut over in front of the red. Green is the old resort pickup/dropoff area for reference. It will definitely take longer, but I am not sure a whole additional ten minutes.

Correct, but in that same thread, after that image was posted Angi mentioned that they had been using this path for a while, even though the bus usage portion was just starting. Her post was page 5 #92 and I have always trusted her information. I personally cannot believe that walking that yellow path could possibly add 10 minutes to a 15-20 minute walk, but I guess everyone has a different walking pace. Personally, I lose all sense of direction the second I even remotely approach DHS, that park is just a mystery to my sense of direction.

Is anyone able to read what it says up to for the Summer Infinity Party? I can't make it out.

:welcome: to the thread!

Do you have an August trip booked here?

:cool1:

I can't really read the description on the copy of the schedule I have (which is from a photo). When I obtain a clearer copy, Ill repost.

I walked it about two weeks ago and it was not through that thick yellow line, just the thin yellow line to the right. Must have changed after that then.

I think that at Non-Club Level, there are roughly 35 rooms with a king bed. Club level, I think there are maybe 3-5. I'm not sure how many are in the DVC Villas. It's been a while since I asked, so the numbers might be off by a few in either direction.

We are not club level so we'll hope we get lucky.

Thanks for the warm welcome. We will be at WDW Aug 14-23 and at the BCV Aug 15-18 . :)

Is there someplace in this thread that provides info on recommended rooms at the Beach Club? Specifically Garden View.

We are here now. We arrived yesterday. Woke up at 3:30 for our 7am flight. Needless to say we were all a bit tired when we arrived.

Our room was ready, nothing special as it overlooks the front entrance. But it works for me since it’s close to the elevator and the ice machine which I need to get to soon. But tomorrrow is laundry day so I will have to meander my way there.

So we unpacked, grabbed lunch at hurricane Hanna’s (meh...). Myself and my DS14 and dd12 stayed at the pool which was nice and refreshing. Dd17 went back to the room, read her book and then took a nap. Dh worked a bit and then went to the dolphin to rent our car. I was able to pull the kids from the pool at about 4 and then we went to target and got our water and breakfast food. Came back and went t chef mickeys for dinner.

Our son has food allergies and the dessert plate they gave him was just so pretty. We never had something look so nice for him. The chef is from the city next to my town and he said his mom just bought a house in my town...wait my hometown.

Today’s plan is DHS by 6 (better get moving and wake the family up), the pool for a bit and beaches and cream for lunch. Epcot later. Dh and DS are doing dive quest.

I will take a better picture of the August activities once I wake the family.

Not really, although Post 13 FAQ on Page 1 offers some information about the types of requests that are available.

Since the attributes guests want in a room vary from family to family, it is hard to recommend particular rooms unless you know what is important to them.

Is view the main criteria? For Garden view, some of the options are back entrance courtyard, volleyball courtyard, woods near EPCOT.

Is having a full balcony important? (This is the one for my family)

Daybed or no?

Location: High floor or low floor. Near (or away) from elevator? Close to lobby/transportation/Stormalong Bay

You should choose the priorities for your family and add them to your reservation as a room request.

:goodvibes

We’ve had really good luck getting a king bed. We make it our only request, and I think that helps.

Especially when we’re only there for a short stay and a king bed is our only request, we’ve almost always gotten one (unsuccessful maybe once out of 20+ stays?) and often we’ve even gotten an upgrade to a better view or club level in order to give us the king bed, once it was even a deluxe room.
