Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

@stenmarks, thanks for the pictures. What room category was that room? We stay YC CL often & hardly ever get a king room. That room looks lovely.

And OMG! That beef & potatoes was sooo good, wasn't it? I thought it was the best thing I've ever had there, lol! Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Agreed, I loved the beef and potatoes! The pork was also delicious, and I'm a picky eater :).

It was a standard view CL room, but my travel agent must have requested a King bed and rollaway cot (I didn't make any room requests, but there cast member said there were notes in the computer). I was pleasantly surprised by the rollaway cot...I sat on it a couple of times and it was much softer than I would have imagined.

So sorry it's taken me to long to post these pictures. We had a wonderful trip to YC last week, and were thoroughly spoiled by our CL room! We were in 5240, which is the very last room on the hallway but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. This is a King room with a full balcony, and we were brought a rollaway bed for DD that fit in the room with plenty of walking room.

@natebenma, please feel free to use these photos...I made sure DD's face is not featured ;). We only enjoyed the evening food twice, so I only have pictures from those two nights. We also ate in the club lounge every morning for breakfast, and often weren't really that hungry for lunch. DH suggested that we book CL again next time instead of a dining plan (at least that's his excuse...) so now I'm waiting for AP discounts for December!

Hope that beef and potatoes is there one of our nights and we are around to enjoy it!

Just wondering if BC Club Level has added these hot offerings like beef & potatoes also. When we were there in 2015, they had very few hot items at night. I can't remember what it was, just that it wasn't much.

We have been back from our 4th of July trip to the BC since last Wednesday. But the Photobucket Uproar has got me running for cover! I have a lot of photos that have been posted on the Dis that are now MIA. :( But I did manage to get the room view pictures ready to post. :)

We had booked a standard view room through a travel agent and had a nice surprise when we finally got into our room. Although it was still a standard view room with the biggest flat roof view the the BC offers, it was a corner room with a king bed. :) We had room 3727 at the end of the hall. It had two standing balconies instead of the full balcony that we had requested but it was so hot outside we never would have used the full balcony, anyway. That is the second time that we have received a corner room with a king bed. I was teasing the CM at the check in desk about getting one of a dozen king beds at the BC and she said that she doesn't think they have as many as a dozen king beds in the resort. So we got really lucky!

IMG_3502_zpskls5t64n.jpg room 3727 at the Beach Club - continued

Our room looked toward Storm Along Bay. We could watch the life guards having CPR lessons. We could see people floating in the lazy river or playing ping pong on the upper desk. We could see boats in the Yacht Club marina and people walking past on the sidewalk. We could also see the parking lot construction next to the YC convention center. We had the biggest flat roof view the Beach Club has to offer - I think. ;)

I had the worst time trying to find the staircase that led from this section of the BC down to the exit next to Cape May. I found a staircase that said Cast Members only at the third floor level. I found a staircase that had no warnings signs but when you got to the bottom you were in the kitchen! So I decided that going up was the only way to go. I started at the exit door on the first floor, next to the Cape May back exit, and went up. I found the staircase at the end of a small wing, right above the restaurant. This staircase was very convenient for going to SAB and Captains Grille from our room. :)

The second photo (little green bowls) is Mushroom duxelle in spinach fillo. DH said they were tasty, but I just took his word for it!

Breakfast had yogurt with mixings, hot oatmeal with mixings (raisins, brown sugar, etc.), and grits every morning. There were varying cold breakfast meats and sliced hard-boiled eggs, and of course cereal and the typical baked goods (bagels, coffee cake, muffins, etc.). I never saw bacon, mickey waffles, or scrambled eggs (though I read somewhere that some of the other CL lounges offer these?).

Thanks for responding! LOL I wouldn't eat that either!!!! The mac and cheese bites and nuggets are more my speed, but I'd definitely give the beef a try! I read the same about breakfast, and that is why I figured I'd ask! Wishful thinking!! Thanks again, definitely makes me more excited to get there!

Thank you for taking the time to post all of the pictures - especially the YC CL food offerings! Excited for our CL stay for Food & Wine in September!

Can I ask you how the alcohol was handled throughout the day? It was so great at our Poly CL stay when the grab and go fridge in the lounge was stocked with beer, and hard cider - no having to ask a CM during the afternoon.

I also wanted to suggest that you may want to post the pictures on the Club Level thread also - lots of folks go over there when trying to decide which resort to choose for their CL stay and love pictures!

I had the mushroom app too. I thought it was very good too. Not as good as the beef & potatoes but still good. I know, I am fixated on that beef, right?!! :rotfl2:

We are staying at CBR in December with our DS & DDIL. Won't be back to YC til May. I soooo hope they still have the same offerings then. All the food items were better than we have seen in years. It's just my luck tho, by May, they'll probbaly go back to the sorry old quesadillas & spring rolls.

For those recently back from YC, any issues with the AC?

This is what I have on Page 1 to explain some of the similarities and differences between the BC and YC. If anyone has any suggestions, additions or notices anything I should change/correct, let me know.

What are the differences between the Beach Club and the Yacht Club?

The Beach Club and Yacht Club are similar resorts in terms of service and amenities, and have equal access to the shared pool complex, health club and video arcade. Both resorts have the same management team in place.

Some minor differences have been noted by guests:

Beach Club- club level lounge renovated in 2014, room renovations completed in August 2015
Lighter, beachy decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby can be active and lively with families waiting for meals at Cape May
Closer to EPCOT and Marketplace Gift Shop/Quick Serve Dining
Approximately 50% of rooms in all room categories have full balconies. The remaining are standing balconies.
Room Amenities include carpets on floor, ceiling fans, Cuisinart Pod Coffee Makers

Yacht Club- renovations to club level lounge started October 2015, room renovations completed in June 2017
Darker woods and nautical decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby is more serene
Convention attendees are more likely to be booked at YC
Closer to Hollywood Studios and Friendship Boats
Most rooms have a full balcony
Room Amenities include wood floors, lots of storage units, Keurig coffee makers. No ceiling fans in rooms following the rehab.

One of the things I noticed/liked about the YC was that it was first pick up for buses (more chance to get a seat) and first drop off (back at SAB quicker). :)

I slept on the rollaway one night years ago when the kids were small (long story) and I found it really comfortable too. :)

37 days today!

Standard rooms sold out for last weekend in April 2018 already (at BC)? Guess I better book in a Garden room ASAP!

Edit: Never mind, I had YC selected by mistake.

Hello! I have been back from my BC stay 6/21-6/28 for a few weeks and just now coming out of my PDD (Post Disney Depression). I wanted to post details of my room as I know there was a question posted back on page 921 about a certain type of room. I had a standard view room booked, my requests were full balcony, higher floor and I had Touring Plans submit a room request form for me. I had room #3723, with a full balcony, 2 queen beds and daybed with a view of Storm Along Bay and Crescent Lake (lovely flat roof as well). It was almost the end of the hallway and very quiet, except when the music and gas were going on at the pool. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me. Now to look forward to 1st BC CL stay April 2018.

Hi, we'll be checking in at YC in 67 days! (but who's counting? :rotfl:) We're staying CL for the first time, where do I check in? The online check in desk or do I tell them I'm a CL VIP right away to find the CL desk? :rotfl2:

Your MB will allow you to go up the floor without having to talk to anyone at the front desk. Just scan your band in the elevator. When you get off, the CL desks are right there. If you do online check in, you will (hopefully) be texted your room number. Even if I have my room number, I always check-in at the CL desk to let them know I've arrived and get my packet with the lounge information. At the YC/BC you may also be given a welcome drink. However, if you have never been there before and are uncomfortable going up by yourself just let the front desk know you are CL and ask them to escort you upstairs. They may call first to tell them you're coming and then bring you upstairs. Have fun!

@Wood Nymph - Thanks for those pictures! I am going to ask my TA to put in a request for that room location - I'm thinking probably floors above/below are similar.

ETA - Just checked the BC room map and actually, just the 3rd and 4th floors have this room...
