Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Couple of questions..... How much was the Uber each way to Walmart? How far of a drive was it? And you mentioned pool noodles but I thought those were available for use at SAB?

Uber was $9 each way, bargain. About 15 minutes without traffic. Tubes are available at SAB for use by guests, but noodles are not. The trip
To Walmart was so well worth the time!

That picture totally made my day. Y'all are crazy in the best possible way!

I'll definitely have to try uber our next trip. We have three days staying dark side (at Portofino Bay), then we head to AKV for five nights. I love AKV, but I have to say BC just feels more like home to me, now that I've stayed elsewhere. Amara always wants to go to DTD when we visit, and we always take a cab because the buses are just awful, no matter where we've stayed.

:offtopic: But our local little league team won the US championship game yesterday against Texas. We'll be glued to the TV to watch them play Japan. Go Redland!

We were in rooms 1548/1550/1552/1554, right behind the elevator bank with a view of the gazebo. It was so great not to have to use elevators and also be so close to SAB if you wanted to run back to your room.
We were in room 1548 last September and loved the location. It was very convenient to SAB, the buses and boats. :)

We've had a few issues today, it started by my husband accidentally locking my daughters car keys in her trunk with no spare set. Had to wait for aaa to come so no MK this morning. Wile we were waiting I went to concierge to reset my pin because I was unable to charge to my MB. After he fixed it he told me I needed to go to registration so I go stand in that line. She looked at me like I was crazy and said I didn't need to come here but she checked it and said I was good to go so we went to Epcit and took the boys on NEMO and then hung out with the fish in the aquarium. On the way back to BC we saw Soarin was only a 10 minute wait but we went to SAB instead. Had some piña colavas and sunken treasures. Tried to pay with MB didn't work, really! Had lunch at Hurricane Hannah's, wasn't impressed. My hamburger was raw won't be trying that again. My daughter got a text that her room was ready so we are off to the 3rd floor. MB doesn't work it doesn't even read it. Saw a CM and they said they would send a runner up. While we were waiting I got a text that my room was ready so my son-in-law stayed there and we went to my room. MB would not open my door it did turn red so I saw a maid and she got a CM supervisor who confirmed my info with someone on the phone and then let me in the room. We are still waiting for a runner to come but I managed to take a pic of my awesome view the board walk will look nice at night

OK, I need the Uber info for using them at Disney resorts!!! I LOVED them in Atlanta, but had heard conflicting reports here on Dis that some guards weren't letting them in to pick folks up???

NM....Give me the scoop please???

When it comes to using Uber I am just along for the ride as I haven't figured it out yet. I believe that you need to set up an account on your phone and link a credit card that can be charged to it. Then you book a ride and a person who is driving for Uber sees that you are requesting a ride. They arrive and take you to your destination and your card is charged.

I actually had the chance to ask our driver if she had any trouble getting in to the resorts and she said that she had not and that all she had to do was show her driver's license and they let her in to pick us up.

P.S. Also would LOVE LOVE to hear about Blue Zoo!!!!

Blue Zoo was great! The staff was very friendly and they even went to the trouble of making one of the monkeys freshly baked gluten free bread! Everybody enjoyed their fish and salads. It was an easy walk from the Beach Club. I'd definitely go back. Dee has some food porn pictures of our meal so you will just have to wait until she posts them.

This was a GREAT post. Are you a blogger?

LOL! Nope, not a blogger.

And HOW I would love to have seen the looks of the other guest's faces when you guys showed up in the lobby dressed like this!!!!!

They loved it and a couple of the life guards especially appreciated our efforts at team spirit. Some of the guests were smiling too. Others looked puzzled and a few looked alarmed.... very alarmed : )

So far today we had breakfast at Tratorria al Forno which was great. They were able to make gluten free mickey waffles which was an awesome thing to do. We could also swap out things on our entrees with no trouble like Bacon for the fennel sausage or potatoes instead of polenta.

We walked back to the room after breakfast and stopped by for a visit with our favorite greeter before we made it up to the room to get ready for the pool. We had wonderful weather for the pool with it being warm and mostly cloudy with no rain. Taking advantage of our own expertise we brought a completely plastic, insulated thermos filled with MIMOSAS and our refillable mugs to the pool. (I know... we are geniuses... right??). Nothing goes with a latex, rainbow colored, flowered bathing cap like a Mimosa drink! We were sipping and dipping in STYLE! Before leaving the pool for the day we had the chance to drip dry outside while sharing a sundae from The Beaches and Cream take out window. Remember to ask if they can make it for you at the take out window if you don't see something on the menu!

It finally started raining at around 3:30 today but by then we were already back in the room, showered and on to our next adventure.

Three of the monkeys Ubered it over to the Wilderness lodge for a tour while one monkey stayed in the room to catch up with her trip reports. The monkey that was nailed to home base in the room was receiving texts from the other 3 mobile monkeys that the Uber driver they had for the return trip to the Beach Club was not the most direction-ally accurate driver. I'm hoping that the shock of that trip is nothing that more mimosas for the monkeys can't cure. The Uber driver is on their own in the mimosa department.

Tonight we have a dinner date at the Crews Cup lounge followed by Fireworks and beverages at the Top of the world at Bay Lake.

To recap, we had two great days at Stormalong bay and absolutely No park time. It was a divine departure from the usual family trip, theme park death march! Tomorrow we plan on hitting Epcot where I will have to see if I can finally run foot loose and clothing free in the parks if it rains. A little bird told me that security has been alerted so I will have to tighten the laces on my running shoes for that faster get away!

NM...those are the best trips. And re: those pesky security folks threatening to rain on your parade through the parks I would offer to run some interference but I'm unfortunately not there. Maybe some of those monkeys hanging out with you?

Biggest news ever - Dee went to Beaches and Cream!

And I knew that OJ in Nanette's hand looked to innocent to be true! I should have guessed mimosas.
