Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

You can use the laundry view website to see how many washers and dryers are available but I found that it wasn't always accurate. I think there were six washers and dryers. I didn't have any trouble using them in the afternoon.

Hi, Dee, I think this post got lost in all the news happening.... quoting to bring it forward so you can add us to BOG list when you get time. Thanks!

Hi, Dee,

Can you please add us to the BOG list? Finally got our dates nailed down. This is our 7 year old Grandson's FIRST DISNEY TRIP! and oh yeah, and his parents are coming along too.... :rotfl2:

2 rooms - Yacht Club, Garden View - Feb 5 - 12, 2022 - Gramma, Grampa, DD, DSIL, and DGS

About how many were there at 9:50?

A decent amount but I was still not far from the front of the line.

For a report…I wish it was happier. I fly home tonight and rope dropped HS, but started later than I would have liked because of issues. I had no DME info on my door or in the room when I returned from Epcot last night and I was way too tired to make the 5 mile trek back to the front desk so I had to make an extra stop this morning for that. Really cost me time and I didn’t get to HS until nearly 8 and was way back in the security line. I was still able to walk on to RNRC and ToT was maybe a 10 minute wait.

In general YC is nice but I had a lot of little issues with my stay. I was in room 3027 and I did appreciate the Happy Birthday note left on my bed when I got in and the room view was incredible, but so many practical little problems…I had to ask for a room occupied sign as one was not in the room. The shower was awful with the lack of shelving and not having a bathtub was honestly a dealbreaker for me. SAB was just too crowded to enjoy whenever I attempted it too. I never actually got there. I think I’m just a quiet pool person at the end of the day, so that place is a bit lost on me.

Yesterday was a comedy of errors. In the AM I had to go all the way to the lobby to fix an issue with my credit card not carrying over to my continuing reservation, then went back to my room to discover my magic baby suddenly stopped working and the app had signed me out and wouldn’t let me back in, then when I managed it I couldn’t use the unlock door feature because it said I had no room number. I was back and forth to the lobby three times trying to get that sorted. Turned out the battery on the door scanner was dead. After all this drama I barely had time to scarf down cereal before my BG was called.

Trying to get back from HS yesterday during the torrential thunderstorm was an experience too. I don’t blame the CMs for turning the boat back around but the wait for a bus was terrible. Tried to keep a positive attitude but I was exhausted and loaded down with stuff to ship home. Bus after bus for RIV and nothing for Crescent Lake resorts. Not having room service that night was really bad too, when everyone was stuck inside…A&C to Go time slots filled up so fast you were basically SOL. The app glitched on me while I was trying to order and I lost my slot, the next time was not until 8:50pm. Luckily the rain subsided considerably so I just went into Epcot for dinner but it was rough.

It was fantastic being so close to HS with the lines there being as bad as they are and the surprise fireworks were amazing but it was such a 180 here from my experience at GF earlier in the week. I would still stay here in the future but I don’t think until Epcot is back to some semblance of normalcy.

@kylenne - I have appreciated all of your "on the ground" reporting this week. Sorry to hear your trip ended on a sour note. I'm a quiet pool kinda gal myself (though I do enjoy a server who brings cocktails :-)) but when you say SAB was too crowded to enjoy does that mean there was a wait and you literally couldn't get in or that they've increased capacity to the point where it was just too many people in there to find a chair or be comfortable in the pool? Neither sounds good but just trying to gauge what to expect in a few weeks. Hope overall you had a fun birthday trip and that you have safe travels home. :goodvibes

my sister is at the pop now. she also got caught yesterday in that area with the downpour and ran to BC from epcot because gondolas were down hoping to get an uber but there were none. can you explain overall what made your gf experience better then yc this time around? sounds like just a lot of glitches in the technology for you? I prefer a walkin shower so i actually requested it and hoping to get that in two wks. ....

also, did you try the quiet pool? we also are not that type of pool people either so i was wondering if you attempted it or observed it?

Not having room service wasn’t a glitch. And having to trek to the lobby from the far side of the resort sucked.

I didn’t see waits to get in but every time I looked over there it was pretty hectic and not many chairs. If you were there all day it was probably fine. But for my touring style it just doesn’t work.

I checked a dozen pages back for recent reviews but what’s the latest with wait times for SAB?
Was there this past week and went to stormalong bay several times. Never had a wait to get in and always found three lounge chairs together or a table. There was a small line for the slide all the time but maybe 6 people. We went in the morning twice at pool opening and in the late afternoons a few more days.

Just got back after a week there and some observations and answers to some of the questions:

- had a great time back at BCV...our home DVC resort
- SAB was busy but never saw or encountered a single line to get in and always could find a spot. Maybe it wasn’t the “perfect” spot but there were always chairs and usually in the area we wanted them with our preferred mix of shade and sun
- HH‘s is fine but still a shadow of its former self. Really need to open the grill side plus the self-service drink machine, add back the tables/chairs near HH to eat that have been removed, plus open the HH bar for people to sit at (come on, I mean we can safely sit at the Wave around the bar but not outside at HH‘s???). The wait staff working the pool area were very busy and doing their best to take and deliver food orders but moving a good chunk of this volume to the grill would help them significantly plus not make it so long to get service
- SAB showers next to the “main” SAB bathrooms are still closed
- gardens and flowers are beautiful...resort is super clean and fresh
- when your need a meal and don’t have a reservation, consider Ale and Compass Lounge (If you can’t get A&C Waitlist). They serve the full A&C menu (just ask), the atmosphere is great, and food really good. It was a godsend during the downpour last night that caught many who commented earlier that prevented our plans to hit the Epcot food kiosks.
- we also had a great late breakfast at the A&C restaurant on our pool day. We initially had Cape May reservations but switched as everyone decided we would go with quality over quantity. :)
- with this said, I frowned heavily every time we walked past the closed Crews cup. Just really missed that place as a lounge for both food or a drink
- never actually saw the ice cream spot open at the BW....can we have the B&C window back???
- this is a question I posted a while back, but no Longboard on draft at HH. They said that is Poly-only now but they did have it in bottles. Draft selection was often very limited in fact and sometimes was just 1 selection ( bud light)
- our experience was International gateway yesterday opened at 10:17 letting us through
- didn’t see the yoga in the activity board but can’t say with certainty that it’s not back

overall the family (me, my wife plus 4 teens aged 15-20) loved our time at the resort.

One more thing. i really wish Disney would allow cast members especially those outdoors to have the option to not wear a mask if vaccinated. i know they supposedly loosened this late last week but I still saw most of the SAB lifeguards with a mask. i ask one of them what was up and she told me that only the ones on the stands had the option. The others (most of them) that patrol and move back and forth 5 or so feet did not have a choice as they were considered too close to guests. It’s just plain silly and demeaning that hundreds of us are out there all without masks around them and they have to mask up “to keep you all safe”. its just too hot and only going to get much much hotter. Give it up, Disney!

I’m having a hard time deciding if I should stay with my plan to stay at YC for our October 2022 trip or If I should save a couple thousand $ and move my stay to Grand Destino Tower Club level. I was really wanting club level at YC but it’s not available yet. I currently have 1 water view ( hubby and I) and 1 garden view booked (for my 2 adult sons) - it took me 2 hours on hold to get through to an agent to book the rooms I did so I’m not looking forward to calling for room changes with those waits! I’m wondering is YC worth it for location. I felt it was but I really wanted club level and I’m surprised to see how expensive even water view non club rooms are right now (close to $700 a night) !! Trying to decide if I should hold out for club level at YC. A couple small things have me thinking and 1) is the possibility of having a dog next to me that is noisy or a room where a dog has been - it kind of is off putting a bit. 2) a review not long ago I read stated beds where uncomfortable. That is a dealbreaker for me, comfortable beds is very important!
just some things causing me to ponder if YC is the best choice for my trip. I have long wanted to try the resort as it is beautiful and every time I visit WDW I ℒℴ𝓋ℯ the area, the resort lobby feel and theme of YC

I, personally, would not make a decision based on one review where someone said that the bed was uncomfortable.

First of all, one person's uncomfortable might be your comfortable - maybe they like a soft mattress and you like a hard mattress, or vice versa.

Second of all, there is the "princess and the pea" factor - maybe that person is ultra- sensitive and could feel a pea under 20 mattresses (or whatever the details were of that fairy tale).

And third of all, if the beds were really bad, I think there would have been numerous posts about it.

There are other factors that you are considering in your decision; I just wanted to comment on this one.

My family of 5( me, dh, 2 teens, and 3 year old) is staying at the Yacht Club in July and when I originally booked I didn't add any requests because I just assumed all the rooms had daybeds. Now I'm over thinking. Should I brave the long hold waits to request 2 queens and a daybed? Or is this unnecessary? If the room is booked for 5, will we be automatically assigned enough beds?

Oh yes! You make a very valid point! I was just hoping it wasn’t a thing that’s beginning to happen to the beds because Reno’s where 4 years ago. Also the review was from a respected and knowledgeable poster on this forum, so it definitely made me take note more than just anyone mentioning it.
there is much to consider and that’s why I’m not moving my reservation yet …. but I am hopeful the price comes down some! I definitely think the location of YC is ideal! 🥰

If it helps at all, I stayed at Yacht Club in April. I have a nasty bad back. Both my traveling companion and I both had no problems at all with the beds.... as evidenced by her snoring..... LOL
