Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

First time staying in one of the Deluxe Club Level Rooms this July 👍 any tips for a preferred room ? I believe the room numbers are limited and all face Bay Lake. We’ve also not stayed Club Level for a good few years. Any info on what it’s like else days would be appreciated.

Many thanks 🙏
The Deluxe rooms are on the 1st to 6th floors. The better views are from the higher floors. The ground floor (1st floor) has a very small patio and a view of the foliage. Our favorite floors are the 4th and 5th floors. Ask for the side of the resort that faces MK rather than the main courtyard. It will be quieter. :)

Thanks. I’ve just checked and it was June 2017 our last visit which was in the standard club room. The rooms were not renovated but I seem to recall the club lounge had.

So, after carefull considerations we changed our booking from the Poly (Standard) to the Wilderness Lodge (Courtyard View). It is our Honeymoon and first time visit to WDW. Extremely excited, to say the least :D We are going end of April and early May.

It was always a tossup between the two for us. Poly won first due to the monorail and TTC in walking distance, but walking into your room and facing a pile driving bonanza, after losing the room lottery ... Reservations also warned of constructions noises during the day. That would be a bummer during slower days when we plan to return to the resort during the day.

Shout out to the two ladies of the Walt Disney Travel Company, everything you could hope for; Taking their time, helpful, comparing different rates, suggestions and tips for consideration, it was a joy. Also changing offers surprised me, we had the dining credit offer (Sep 2022) but the new free nights works out better.

Congratulation! Have a wonderful trip you will LOVE WL!

This might be an odd/silly question but is the parking lot fairly secure at far as vehicle theft? I know they have security about getting in but was curious about cars leaving or being broken into? Are there security cameras?

There has been a huge untick in theft of my type of vehicle and I'm feeling a lot of anxiety about it.

I have a question about the buffalo topiary!

When I visited June 22 the buffalo topiary at the Copper Creek DVC wing across Geyser Point was gone. We are coming back March 23.
Has anybody spotted the buffalo since then?

Have a magical vacation!

Sadly, I didn't see it in December.

Unless someone enters via foot or from the boats aka Magic Kingdom, then I don't think you would have to worry.

Anyone driving in has to have a reason (dining, room, or on Disney transport). I don't think there is a high likelihood someone would drive in their own car and then go break in to someone else's. At least, not in this setting.

I always lock my doors and do not keep anything highly valuable in my car. That's just day to day stuff, so I wouldn't stop doing it at Disney.

And I am fairly certain there are security cameras EVERYWHERE. Someone jump in if you have exact info.

Yeah it's gone for a while now, here now, used to always take picture of my daughter in front of it yearly. Waterfall from lobby not currently working either. Boulder exterior construction noise ran until atleast 730 last night. Lodge is still great and quiet overall compared to my stay over at the grand floridian earlier this week.

Is anyone going to Wilderness Lodge in the near future and could do me a HUGE favor?

We were just at Disney and on our last day my husband left his beloved Wilderness Lodge hat on Thunder Mountain. He filled out a lost and found form but just this week they got back to him saying they had too many lost and found requests and wouldn't be responding to his :(

I'm not even sure if they still make them but this is the hat and I believe it's in the WL gift shop. We don't plan on going back to the parks for another year but if someone would be willing to pick one up and have it shipped to us I'd happily Venmo the cost and we'd tell the story about your kindness for the rest of our lives! :)

Curious as to whether you've been able to locate the hat. I arrive on Sunday and would be happy to look for you.

Not so far and I would be grateful! His birthday is in February so if I could somehow secure a replacement he'd be over the moon.

We drive to Disney all the time, and I’ve never heard of break-ins, let alone theft. I’d never say never, but the resort lots are very secure. I’d be more worried about it at Disney Springs, but not for any reason other than anyone can come in the parking garage.

Thank you! That does make me feel better. We aren't planning on driving anywhere once we get there. I don't leave valuables either and always triple check locking, so it's really our actual car that I worry about. It's apparently been a Tiktok trend to steal cars and there are tons of them walking through how to break in :rolleyes2

Posted this in the Copper Creek thread but wanted to share too. I really enjoyed the area by geyser point watching the fireworks! So relaxing. They pipe the music from the show in at the bar and so comfy in the outdoor seating. It was cool so we dressed warm, had dessert and I loved every minute of it!!!
