Wdw guest service answered me. They say that at the moment the only building that will be renovated is the BR villa Buldee Ridge so I think there will be minimal impact on the rest of the construction. We are not sure but at this point there is no point in changing hotels, in my opinion they will not be such big jobs.

Thanks for this specific information and to the original poster who posted about the construction. We were supposed to stay in the Boulder Ridge Villas Sept 2-8 in a 1 bedroom villa. I had booked under the current late summer discount. I just switched us to the Riviera and got the last 1 bedroom villa with the discount, but had to pay significantly more. The other option was the AKL 1 bedroom villas, which would have cost less. I’m pretty disappointed, but we rarely take vacations, so I did not feel like contending with the construction.

I had the same experience when I called yesterday. I told the CM I was concerned about the construction and wanted her to check YC/BC for me instead. She assured me that in July It would not be the main building but the villas and cabins. So, I stuck with WL since we really wanted to try it this time around. It was $500 more to switch to the YC.

For me in early August, I technically have a Copper Creek studio booked. I know the half the wing face Boulder Ridge, here's hoping I get the other side. I'm still going to stick with my booking, the rate is just too good (cheaper than AKL, OKW or SSR).

Then you should call Disney and add a request for a Courtyard view to your reservation.

The Standard View Deluxe Villas with a Walk-in shower start on the 2nd floor (same as the lobby) and are on every floor up to the 7th floor. There are only 12 of these units that look toward the BRV building out of about 40 rooms so your odds are very good.

Hi all. Just wanted to update the post above. It appears some exterior work has started. Posts on Facebook from guests currently at WL wrote today they began painting or restaining the exterior. They stated there are 2 cranes right outside Sturdy Branches. That’s all that was posted. I’ll update if any additional information is given.

Thank you! I was thinking maybe we should start a separate thread but I think if we all post in this thread anything we see in other places, then we should be able to keep current. I am hoping they finish before my stay in November, but I know that anything can happen along the way.

I liked it, but I wish they had mentioned Ranger Stan. He was the original and the heart and soul of the resort.

We just completed a brief 3-night stay at the Lodge. The resort was charming as usual. Every Disney staff we met was lovely. Really hoping to return soon.

I remember someone asking a few weeks ago about Club access for guests staying at a DVC property. I brought this up with a Club CM and was informed that they "typically" don't offer access to these rooms, even if the guests were cash-booking through Disney.
