Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

We are back home after a wonderful 1st stay at the Lodge. I don't think I can stay anywhere else now. It was the most relaxing Disney vacation we have had.

We stayed in a standard view room and had room 5050 which is right over the service area. We did not have any issues with noise. We did have an air purifier in the room for white noise. The view we had of Wishes was a great treat and more than made up for being over the service area.

The splash pad was great fun for our 6 & 7 year old. We also enjoyed the pool, but it got pretty crowded in the early afternoon.

I am not sure when the next Disney trip is in the cards, but whenever it is, we want to return to WL. Thanks to this thread for all of the great info and help!

Never stop stalking:tiptoe: - stalking can pay off. People cancel and change reservations all the time, so don't give up. I'll log your dates and let me know when you get the 5th;)

You're going to have such a big smile when you walk into the lobby!

Thank you for your update and I hope you had a safe trip home.

Thank you and I hope you're having a great stay. They were converting to the credit card machines when I was there in April and I couldn't take photos because they were closed. But, I did post the CR laundry photos here since they had already been converted. The only locked laundry rooms are the DVC ones, although sometimes even they aren't locked:upsidedow

I sure can - congrats!

Welcome back! Have you got everything squared away? Did you book bunks? I'll log your dates:)

So nice of you to upgrade to the Deluxe room. You probably already know that those rooms are only on floors 1-6, none are on the CL floor. So much tasty goodness to nom-nom on:). I'll add your dates to the Log.

Congratulations on booking and I'll add your dates. Some like to request a higher North Wing room so that you can see some of Wishes. You'll have to call in that request as OCI room request choices are very limited.

Have you checked out the CHRISTMASTIME chapter of the thread? I'll log your dates and happy planning:)

The new recreation calendar is available online the first week of each month. The hyperlink is in POST 1.

Though I've never personally ordered, I've read that Bell Services will store your perishables in the fridge so I wouldn't change your time.

WL rooms have a Cuisinart Pod coffee maker, (DVC villas use a filter).

Thanks! We do know that they are CL access rooms. I requested non-dormer balconies/ones we don't have to stand up to see over and possibly a view of Bay Lake. Hoping that's good enough ;) Thanks for adding me! So excited!! 32 days left :)

After watching some videos of VWL studio rooms I noticed that the room only has the one mirror over the sink. I have 3 teen girls and we all tend to get ready at the same time in the morning so we can leave early for the parks. I'm not sure how this is going to work since we are used to having 2 over the sink, the small movable mirror, and the door mirror.

Does anyone else have issues with just the one mirror? What do you do?

Studios are really small and really only meant for a couple or maybe a couple with a smaller child. If you get a one bedroom villa (but they only officially sleep four), you'll have two bathroom mirrors. And a two bedroom which is really spacious, will have three mirrors (in two bathrooms). Parents and three teens are going to be a real crowd in a studio.

We are less than 60 days out and unfortunately there are no 1 or 2 bedrooms available. We are used to being in one room and by the square footage it's only a tiny bit smaller than BWI rooms which we are used to staying in. Just thought maybe there would be a few more mirrors like these rooms have.

The murphy bed is smaller than the day beds at BWI. Don't forget part of the square footage is the kitchenette. And the sleeper sofa is only double sized.

But I hope it works for you.

Staying for the first time at WL in early July. Can't wait it looks so beautiful and so close to our favorite park MK. I am wondering we have two early morning ADR's 8:15am at Kona and Chef Mickey's. Was wondering what time we should leave WL to make these ADR's? Does anyone know what time the boat/buses run? I am thinking catch a boat or bus to MK then take the monorail. Would leaving at 7:30am be enough time? Thanks.

Not sure if the resort monorail will be running in the morning. Lots of track maintenance. You may want to take a cab to the Poly. The boat to Contemporary is the way to go.

WDWKOOK or anyone who can answer, we are coming up on just under two weeks for arrival and are trying to finalize some last second things. We are arriving on June 5, and will be checking out on June 11. Do you know if they have posted an entertainment schedule for WL for June yet? Also we placed our Garden Grocer order, but instead of being able to schedule a two hour block it only allowed a 4 hour block, which we selected as the 12 to 4 block. We don't get to the airport until noon and my guess is we won't get to WL until 2 or 2:30. Will WL store the cold items, or should I change the GG order to a later block, even though we will be in the Park? Lastly do you know what kind of coffee maker the rooms have? Is it a Keurig type pod, or just a regular old fashion coffee filter? Thanks for your help in answering these questions.

Bell services will store the cold items for you.

You're welcome and I think DS will love WL - what a neat surprise. Where does he think you're staying? Or is the whole trip a surprise? I'll add your dates to the Log.
The whole trip will be a surprise. I think I'm going to tell him the morning we leave. I loooove Disney and am so excited!

Yes thank you. My youngest is short so she should be fine.

Thanks for the welcome back! I hope I have at least gotten the big things done: hotel/magic bands/memory maker, ADRs, FP+, and stroller. I've got my big box out that I use to throw things in that I don't need now but don't want to forget (quarters, sunscreen, glow sticks, whatever!) luckily, the kids haven't figured out that is how I always start packing for Disney!

With DD2 always wanting to do what DS6 does, we opted for 2 queens this time. In a couple years we will have to try the bunk beds!

There is another mirror (a bit small though) in the entryway that I used to put my makeup on during our VWL stay. I really missed having a floor length mirror though!

That's good to know. I think my dd's will miss the floor length mirror too.

Trying to plan some breakfasts and wondering about best transport and time. 1 at Chef Mickey (7:10) and 1 at Crystal Palace (8:35). How long does it take to get to these places on average. Going in mid August.

another question for you guys. i now see a deluxe room available with a passholder rate even :) i am thinking of grabbing it. anybody know how much larger it is than a standard club room? my daughter and her guide dog will be joining us (I'm really happy! but now I'm second guessing the space) worth it to upsize?? and I remember reading these deluxe rooms are not on the lounge floor. Are any of them on the 7th floor??

I'm going to check the first pages for pics or info but I'm in a what to do panic so figured I'd ask quick for info or opinions. Thanks!

I'm no expert here, but I believe the regular rooms are closer to 350 square feet, while the deluxe is more like 500 sq ft. I also got the deluxe room with ph rate ;) None of them are on the 7th floor. Yes, there's lots on the first few pages :) Hope you get the info you are looking for. Also the door between the bedroom and living area are french doors. That's about I know ;)
And what fun to have your daughter joining you!!! :D

Checking-in in 11 days! Can't wait to get my hands on the house chips with ranch. Any update on the scaffolding?
