Disneys unique AKl

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to WDW staying at the Polynesian. We loved it. A couple of days we never left the resort.We're interested in staying at AKL next year.There will be 6 of us so we may have to get 2 rooms.$$$ We've never been to AKL so i'd love to hear from those of you who have and what makes this resort one of the favorites of many.

We visited the AKL once when we stayed at the Dolphin and just knew we had to stay there. (We eventually did and had a discount rate, terrible room as far as amenities go, long hallway and by the buses as the view, but the price was right and we enjoyed hotel very much.)

There are common viewing areas off of the hotel lobby, with rocking chairs, and we just sat, relaxed and watched. The grounds are lovely, lots of nooks and crannies for viewing wildlife. The CM are very knowledgable and friendly and from different parts of the world, if you chat with anyone of them, you'll learn something you didn't expect.

The art, the craftsmanship of the lobby and outside of the lodge is wonderful and very special. In December I had the pool to myself and it was wonderful and relaxing. DH enjoyed the hot tubs.

We'll stay there again, but we'll visit the lodge sooner than that.
