Therefore, it is with great pride that we would like to extend an invitation for you to enroll in our academy. This is an opportunity only a select few are given, and we hope you will seriously consider this invitation as we await your reply.

Congratulations! You have been asked to enroll in the uber-elite Princess Academy. This is most likely because you either have a family history in Disney Royalty, or you've demonstrated a trait or achieved an accomplishment worthy of being crowned royalty. Located in the middle of The Royal Kingdom, Princess Academy is actually a part of Cinderella's Castle- dorms and classes are held in towers that Cinderella previously has no use for. Cinderella has generously started the academy to give other princesses the chance at royalty her Fairy Godmother gave her that fateful night. After classes are finished, you are free to roam around the kingdom with your friends, enjoying the shoppes, restaurants, and arts the town has to offer. Before you enroll, however, we ask that you pick a Royal Shadow House- your concentrated area of study will be "shadowing" a group of princesses you have been inspired by or identify with the most. In addition to your typical classes- history, maths, english, etc; Your Shadow House determines the type of core curriculum classes specific to you.

The Traditionals

Model Princesses: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella.
Defining Traits: finesse, grace, well-mannered, charming, well-rounded, striking beauty inside and out.
Core Curriculum: French, Musical (Theatrical, Traditional, or otherwise noted) Performance, Public Speaking, and Current Events.
Color: Light Blue.

Princesses who consider themselves part of The Traditional Shadow House are usually born into royalty or have become royal from a family marriage throughout their life. They are the clean-cut, classic definition of a princess- their presence completes a room, and their behavior is nothing but exceptional. Traditionals often enjoy the finer things in life- hey, if you had to clean your step-family's home your whole life, you would, too! Their outer appearance is always as immaculate as their inner beauty, and a Prince Charming with a large castle is always on the horizon for them. But don't be fooled by this description- Traditionals are no cookie-cutters. A Traditional is always unique in her manner and appearance, and no two are exactly alike. After all, is it not her outstanding-ness that sets a Traditional apart from all the rest?​

The Uniques

Model Princesses: Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle.
Defining Traits: Spontaneous, clever, adventurous, out-spoken, extroverted, brave, determined.
Core Curriculum: Theatrical Performance, Lit. Studies, Creative Writing, Foundations of Studio Art (and beyond, if student chooses).
Color: Sandy Brown.

Who doesn't love Ariel, Rapunzel, and Belle? Who can't identify with a bookish beauty who longs for more? All of these princesses, at some point or another, have wanted something more than a simple life. Why settle for less when you can have more? Uniques come to Princess Academy for exactly that. They love reading and the arts, and are usually naturally gifted in writing or performing/fine arts. Uniques are fun and outgoing, but usually have a hard time getting through a long school schedule- chin up, girls! Only one more hour of Algebra before freedom!

The Uncommons

Model Princesses: Pocahontas, Tiana, Jasmine
Defining Traits: courageous, strong-willed, hardworking, humble, considerate, wise, optimistic.
Core curriculum: Women Studies, Oceanography & Marine Biology, Spanish, Music Theory & Performance.
Color: Yellow green.

What's the difference, you ask, between a Unique and an Uncommon? Simple. Many girls believe that they are "Unique"- but only a few can truly call themselves "Uncommon". A Unique is somebody who is different to the core, while an Uncommon is somebody who shares a set of believes only a few girls agree too. An Uncommon believes that a real Princess works her way to the tiara, and works her way to keep it there. An Uncommon believes that a real Princess sticks up for herself, but sticks up for others first an foremost. An Uncommon believes that a real Princess works hard to make the world a better place. Though you'll never see an Uncommon doting over her appearance, she's still decidedly "self-conscious" in a way- Uncommon Princesses make sure that everything they say and do are a true reflection on their beliefs. It's not like Uncommons NEED to obsess over their appearance anyway- after all, they're pretty much flawless. *hair flip*. ​

Academy Life/Pet Policy:

Here at Princess Academy, you will be living in dorms of up to 5 people each. These dorms are assigned by Shadow House and all have private bathrooms. You and your dorm will be called down by teachers each morning for breakfast and classes begin promptly at 8:00 in the morning Monday - Friday. There is a lunch break for all students between 12:00 and 1:00. Students who are 17 years and older are permitted to leave the castle for this lunch break, provided that they show up to their next class on time. Classes are dismissed for the day at 3:00 P.M. Dinner is served at 6:30 and the final Dorm Call for students between the ages of 14-17 is 10:30. Students between the ages of 18-22 are not required to be at their dorms until 12:00 provided that they do not disrupt the other dorms.

Certain pets are permitted in the castle. Dogs, cats, and amphibians/reptiles are allowed. They will stay in your dorm and are 100% your responsibility.

The Academy Rules:

1. All of your characters have to be your own original work. I won't micromanage about the specifics, but please do not take credit for someone else's character- this INCLUDES real people/celebrities.
2. OOC bullying is not tolerated. OOC harassment will void your characters from the game completely.
3. Right now, you are allowed to make up to three characters- one for each Shadow House. Alternatively, you may have two students and one teacher, two teachers and one student, or three teachers.
4. RP Characters must be between the ages of 14-22, since this academy is technically a High School/College level education course combined.
5. This should be a given, but please keep your characters, back stories, and RP-ing PG.

I was thinking about that. Guy teachers definitely, but no "Princes" just yet. I'll probably add in a guy academy later- but it wouldn't be as complex as PA. What I'm most worried about is people creating a Prince character to be a love interest for their own character, and then they start RPing the two together, and it becomes a mess. It might be a lot easier to have just a Princess Academy for now- then later on once we have a plot going I'll consider the development of a prince academy sub-plot.

EDIT: Actually, I wouldn't mind if you RP-ed "with" a prince after classes are done and ya'll are hanging around town. Like, "Lavender walked into the town and saw Prince Phillip. The two nodded at each other". They wouldn't be real characters, but I wouldn't mind as long as people didn't start obsessively RP-ing with themselves. Does that make sense? I might sound crazy right now haha

Background Information: Octavia is a certified genius. Literally, she has three doctorates already (Computer Engineering, English and Law if you were wondering). Despite her age, as a good scientist and writer, she is well respected among the intellectual community. With her prestige as a scientist, combined with her role as a princess of her small city-state of Toscana, she carries a lot of influence, influence she knows she has but doesn't know how to wield. For Dr. Sinclair has made an important discovery that she must never share. And it's her discovery and her influence that encouraged someone enough to make an attempt on her life. With the need to go into hiding and her mother's insistence, Octavia has enrolled in the school.
Personality: Octavia is wise, intelligent, brilliant, practical, kind, reserved, bookish and secretive.

Hal has been a spy, a secret agent with the government for about a year now, and is one of the best, which in hindsight they should have known because the name Halolani literally means "to move quietly" and Hal was very sneaky and clever as a child. Hal has been assigned with the protection of Dr. Princess Octavia Sinclair since the attempt on her life, so reluctantly Hal enrolled in the school.
Personality: Hal is quiet, reserved, secretive, aggressive, brave, strong, determined, stubborn, dangerous, subtle, and a complete tomboy.

Also- I can kinda see where you're coming from on your Traditional standpoint. I'm about to post a character who's a Traditional you might agree with, though. I didn't even want to make one at first but she's actually pretty interesting. I think what I'm most trying to pull from a "Traditional" is a character who has known that she'd get to the throne one day and is looking for a more "traditional" course in knowing everything she needs to know about being a queen. Not like, "oh I'm ella im a traditional and im a total mary sue who only thinks about boys n makeup n yh" Obv. I'm not gonna force you to change your mind but it might change your mind if you see an example of what I mean.

Many people are hesitant to believe this because she's always reading an issue of Teen Vogue, or applying glitter gloss, or going shopping in her free time. DON'T let that catch you off guard- one snicker or eye-roll and she'll cut you up faster than you can say "Betty Friedan".

Princess Academy decided they wanted her in their college. At first, she was skeptical- but after being turned away by her top choice college, she decided she's take the chance. She hopes that by going to Princess Academy, she'll be able to develop skills necessary to lead a nation or at least rep it at the United Nations in New York City- her favorite place on Earth.

Personality: If you don't know who Ivy Henderson is, she'll be the first to tell you. Oddly enough, she'll also be the first to tell you who "you" are in the process. Ivy's very talented, but her pride and self-conceit may be her downfall on the way to success. All her life she's wanted more (material items). And there's a brain underneath that full head of well-maintained red curls. As blunt as she is, she's one smart cookie and likes to read the classics. She's waiting for the day her prince comes in and saves her- and she can finally be the housewife she's always dreamed of being. Ivy still has that typical post-modern mentality that all women have a place and that place is not in the position of power. But hey, Ivy lives in America, so at least she's protected under the Constitution, right?

So I was talking to somebody else about challenging characters and I realized I'm not really challenged. So I feel obligated to be challenged, so I'm thinking of coming up with a Traditionalist, but I have to work it carefully so I don't want to kill myself.

Maybe a Traditionalist with no self esteem, a girl used to being walked all over that she just tries to please her family by attending and shadowing the Traditionalists even though she has this secret other side that longs for adventure and respect....and she learns how to be strong and independent over the course of the RP....

Personality: A bit of a more stereotypical princess, she's always been a princess and enjoys it. She is not quiet, but certainly not loud and outgoing, either. She doesn't have a sky-high ego and self-esteem, but she is usually confident in herself. Clarion is the type of princess who enjoys being in dresses and looking nice, but can also relax and be (slightly) casual. She treats others with respect, and has zero tolerance for people being mistreated, especially by other princesses.
