Not 100% sure but I read on another site that it was supposed to be complete by today as long as there was no hold up b/c of weather.

Only 4 more days to go! Shipped off my package of baby supplies to the resort this morning and planning on faxing over my room requests tomorrow morning. Here's hoping the next few days go by quickly!

Anyone have any idea what the current pool hours are at Old Man Island? Also, are the quiet pools still open 24 hours or do they also close along with the main pool? I will be checking in at POR in about one month.

We swam in the quiet pool that is located by building 25 and the posted hours were 7am to 11pm. We were just there two weeks ago. I was glad that the pool closed at 11pm since our room was really close to the pool.

Main pool hours are still 9am-11pm for the moment, and the pool is closed and roped off outside of those times, but expect those hours to be reduced as we head towards winter. Quiet pool opening hours are posted but not enforced.

Question about the 2016 BB offer. What is it for Free dining and does anyone know the dates for it? My oldest DS is graduating 8th grade is June and would love to be able to take him for a few days on this offer to celebrate!

The offer is for most dates between May 31, 2016 to June 7, 2016 and between August 26 - October 1, 2016.

Following up on a question from early August. I read information on another website indicating that Ol' Man Island and the main pool were going to be closed in January. Back then, Andre said that nothing is official but that the pool could be closed for two months starting in January. We're now less than 4 months from a possible two month pool closure and it seems there is still nothing official being released. Shouldn't Disney be letting guests for that period know of such a major closure? Has anyone heard anything about this closure? We're bringing my parents for what will probably be their last trip to Disney in February and would love to stay at PORS but DS9, DD9 and DS8 would be extremely disappointed if the main pool is closed.

Don't forget that there are five other pools at POR, plus the POFQ pool of course, which they may consider are adequate alternatives. My educated guess would be that they would need to determine the exact dates for any possible planned work, and notify everyone internally first, so the folks at guest relations / reservations center /etc have the full details before anything gets announced and the phone calls start coming in. Generally these sort of projects are not announced especially far in advance though (perhaps a couple of months out at best); I still don't think that WDW as a whole fully understands quite how many seriously Type-A planners there are out here.
