Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

I found my river view to be a little noisy with the boat going past on its way to/from Riverside, but I got used to it after a little while.

Oh ok. I thought the whole pool area was surrounded by that ugly fence. Thanks
We just got back, the construction at the children's pool wasn't a big deal. It has taken out part of the deck (between the kids pool and the area before the slide) but I think they moved those lounge chairs to other part of the pool.

The last boat leaves Disney Springs at 11:30 so by midnight or so it will be done. However if your party wants to go to sleep early river view may not be for you. We live on the takeoff/landing path of Philadelphia Airport so boats on the river are no big deal .

Ordered from disneystore.com last weekend under the assumption the delivery would take near the full 7-9 business days to be delivered. I just checked the tracking and have discovered the package has already been delivered.

We dont arrive until next Saturday the 28th!

So my question is will POFQ hold my package until we arrive? It was addressed to Name then our arrival date.

What would be the best way of contacting them about it also?

Yeah, they weren't super loud, just kind of a regular noise that you noticed for a little bit but then got used to. I was spending more time in my room than I normally would because I was there for the W&D half marathon and didn't have a park ticket for the day I arrived, so I was back to hang out at the resort by 7 or so, and then the day of the race (10pm race) I spent about 3:30 to 7pm in the room.

We have done the online checkin with no problems. We have stayed on all floors with various views and can't say one was much different noise or traffic wise

Thank you. We have asked for building 6 third floor, and got a price deal on a river view. The pics from those rooms on the TP website look really pretty. We are very excited.

We are hoping to make it to Savannah on the night before, so we might arrive before 3PM on our check in day. I have heard that they will hold bags at the check-in desk, so we may leave a few things there if our room isn't ready when we arrive. Or, I suppose we could just leave them locked in the car, while we take a bus around the area, ride the monorail, etc. for a bit.

There's a luggage room outside on the curb, a little ways to the right of the main entrance, next to the airline checkin stand for people who are able to check their luggage for their flight at the resort. They will hold carryon luggage in there on the day you check out and leave... I would imagine they would hold it there for you before checking in as well. Your room may just be ready, though. :) I had a text that my room was ready when I got off my flight around noon.

Been there a couple of spring breaks - not ideal, but doable. Just the normal advice. Get there early, take a mid day break, this time to escape the crowds. Crowds tend to thin out late as well. You can do the morning EMH in one park and after a break finish the day in another park. And pack your patience just in case lines are long - use the app or Lines to check the wait times before you cross the park.

Thanks! We usually go in October. Appreciate the advice. I planned adr for lunchtime to take a break and have park hopper ( always do that anyways but think this trip more essential ) I have the an app or two on my phone and will try to be mentally prepared !

Wondering if anyone can job my memory...it's been a couple of years since I stayed at POFQ and have usually stayed in buildings 4 or 5. This spring, I'm taking a trip where we have 2 standard view rooms reserved, and am hoping to snag connecting rooms on the ground floor, close to the lobby. Looking at the maps, I've been trying to compare distance from bus stop to potential rooms in Bldg 3 and 4, and wondering about what looks like a door going out the side of the lobby to the front side of Building 3.... I circled what I'm seeing on the little map below. Can anyone tell me if that is a public entrance/exit?

This is the pic from the corner room looking at that opening, just to the left of the pole at the bottom of the stairs (pulled form the TP website). It doesn't look like a wide door, more like a service/back entrance. I've never been there so I certainly am not sure. Not sure if this helps at all...

AFAIK not a public entrance/exit there; probably a service/backstage entrance? Looking at where you've circled on the lobby map, I'm thinking that area is behind the registration desk area. When I was there in April this year, they were running the temporary bus stop in the parking lot past Bldg 3, and I walked through/past that area several times (walking between lobby bldg and bldg 3). IIRC, that side of the lobby building is service/carts/etc. Someone could come along and correct me, but I'm pretty sure no public entrance.

Thanks, I had found that photo, but also found this one on WDWINFO's POFQ page...can't see much, but was thinking it COULD be telephones, restrooms, maybe an exit...like the area off the lobby at Coronado Springs. I wish there were more photos that showed this area.

No, not a public entrance to the lobby. There's a guest door at the far end of the store, but not at the side of the lobby near the arcade.

The bathrooms and I think maybe the telephones are on the opposite side, on the left side of the porte-cochère. I am positive the bathrooms are, though, because I changed back into my cold weather clothes in there before getting on DME last week. :)

Miranda is right, the bathrooms are the left side of the lobby near Scat Cat's & where Bonfamille's was

Does anyone have pictures of the elevators at POFQ? I've stayed here before, but was in a room on the ground floor, and I don't recall taking a good look at the elevators. My next trip I'm going with my mom and her ECV, so I am curious about how mom will maneuver in the elevators and upper walkways with the ECV if we're assigned to a 2nd or 3rd floor room. I'm not sure what floor to request because she is hesitant to be on the ground floor because of animals and insects (even though I've tried to reassure her that it is totally fine!), but I'm not sure if the walkways on the upper floors will be too narrow for her to easily use her ECV (like turning it). Any thoughts/pictures would be appreciated, thanks!
